Our family members love sitting and watching the birds visit our garden, so we decided to make these bird feeders to entice them even more!🐦

Together we mixed lard with a selection of seeds, then used cookie cutters to press them into different shapes, after letting them set, we took a stroll through the garden to hang them up. This activity is not only fun, but also helps the birds find food during the colder months and keeps our garden healthy and full of life.🌱

As the weather gets chillier, theres nothing like sitting around the table with a deck of cards and a cup of tea to keep you occupied! Our regular games afternoons are a great way to keep your hands busy while maintaining motor and cognitive skills. 🎲

Today on National Arts in Care Homes Day, we recognise the impact art therapy has in supporting wellbeing for those who may be on a cognitive journey.

For example, in our regular Creative Minds Exmouth sessions, art therapy offers a calm space to focus, explore, and express. The act of creating through painting, crafting, or working with different textures, can reduce stress, spark conversation, and bring people together through shared experiences. In our home, these regular crafting sessions help nurture confidence and offer moments of personal achievement for our family members.

With art, the real value lies not in the finished piece, but in the meaningful experience of making it. 🎨
