🌕 Full Moon Evening Dip 🌕

Are you looking for a fun and friendly way to connect with your local community?

Join us for a full moon evening dip on Tuesday, 1st August 2023 at 7.30pm.

Come down to Sidmouth Beach opposite the Fort Cafe to celebrate the rising of the Sturgeon Moon. Mental Health Swims Sidmouth along with OneWave Sidmouth, will together enjoy the magical sight of the full moon rising.

Both OneWave and MHS Sidmouth are wonderfully welcoming groups which empower everyone to enjoy the healing power of the water, connection of the community, and the beauty of nature.

📍We’ll meet at 9.30am on Port Royal Beach

We start with a check in and chat, having open and honest conversations in a safe supportive space. We understand that this can feel daunting but there is no pressure to talk if you don’t want to. Listening can be just as powerful. Then depending on conditions we SUP, swim, surf, splash, or just sit on the shore… the benefits of the sea can be enjoyed in so many ways! So why not come down and see for yourself! 🌊

We’ll be back on the beach on the 14th at 6.30pm for our first sea-sesh and we’d love you to join us for Fluro Fridays this year ☺️
For those who haven’t been before or feel timid to join, here’s what we do:

We meet up, have chats, get IN or ON the sea with our boards and help each other to enjoy the time spent by the water.
It’s a chance to open up about struggles, support others or just listen and take in the good vibes.
We are honest, friendly and welcoming so if you’ve been hesitating, why not give it a whirl and join us?….we’d love to welcome you to the crew!

Celebrating 10 years of 🎉
Despite the weather not being completely on our side, it sure joined in to wish a happy birthday to OneWave, bringing colour to the sky and a reminder that there is no rainbow without rain, there can be beautiful moments within a storm and that there is always hope! 🌈

Due to the conditions instead of getting in the sea we watched the waves, chatted and soaked up some sea breeze before heading to the new for some celebrations and snacks. Thank you for hosting Charlie & Rob 🥰 we wish the new crew all the love and luck with their amazing new venture…you’re going to light up the town!

Also a huge Thank you to and all the community around the world 🌍 🙏we are so proud to be a part of such an awesome family!

Since launching in March 2013 OneWave has created a global impact, raising awareness and reducing social stigmas around mental health issues through Fluro Fridays and the focus on community, connection, conversation and the magical ingredient salt water therapy! 💙🌊

UPDATE BELOW:

Hey One Wave crew👋🏽
During my trip to Australia I was sat alone on a beautiful secluded beach when along came this lovely chap wearing a OW shirt! Obviously we got talking about mental health and how great OneWave is, (he’s one of the original crew from the early days) …And here we are about to celebrate its 10th birthday! 🎉🥳🌈
Now unfortunately we aren’t blessed with Aussie weather or crystal waters in Sidmouth and it’s blowin a hoolie out there this arvo so it’s highly unlikely that we’ll be able to get in the water 🙄 …safety 1st…
BUT we will still meet up in our usual spot and get together to talk, take in the sea air and celebrate OneWave in our brightest fluro clothes.
Hope to see you there for a literal blast of vitamin SEA 😅🌊🌪️💨
