🌟 Bittersweet Farewells & Lively Days at Springbank 🌟

Monday morning was a special one as we held our final Positive Strength session with Chris. It has been an absolute pleasure welcoming him as a regular part of our activity schedule over the last few years; his presence will be sorely missed by residents and staff alike. Thank you for everything, Chris! 💪✨

The energy continued yesterday with a lovely coffee morning filled with the best hits of the 60s and 70s, followed by an incredible turnout for Bingo. It was a full house with standing room only—the atmosphere was fantastic! 🎶🎟️

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿A fantastic weekend of fitness and flavour at Springbank Care Home! 🌟🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We kicked off Saturday with an active morning, enjoying some energising chair exercises in both our Bluebell and Primrose communities. It was a great way to get moving and start the weekend on a high note! 🧘‍♂️✨

On Sunday, we celebrated Burns Night in true traditional style! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 We spent the afternoon enjoying some classic games before sitting down to a spectacular feast. Our residents enjoyed a traditional roast dinner with a Scottish twist—choice of Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding or lamb in gravy, served alongside "Tatties and Neeps" and creamy leeks. To finish, we tucked into a delicious Cranachan, filled with fresh raspberries, whipped cream, and toasted oats. 😋🥄

The treats didn't stop there! For afternoon tea, we enjoyed some buttery homemade shortbread biscuits with a cuppa. ☕️ We then rounded off the celebrations with a lovely evening meal of Scottish ham and lentil soup, followed by Scottish salmon and dill fish cakes, and a slice of our homemade Dundee cake to finish. 🍰💙

Pampering and Community Fun at Springbank!

Yesterday at the home was a day of feeling good and getting out and about! We enjoyed a lovely morning in the salon with Lisa, who worked her magic to make everyone look and feel absolutely amazing. There is nothing like a bit of pampering to start the day on a high note. 💅✨

In the afternoon, we headed out for our much-loved regular trip to the Thursday Club at Silsden Methodist Church. It is always a pleasure to catch up with friends in the community and enjoy the warm hospitality there. It was the perfect way to round off a busy and brilliant day! ☕️🚐

🥖 Fresh from the Oven at Springbank!

When we say homemade, we really mean it!

There is nothing quite like the aroma of freshly baked bread wafting through the corridors. Our wonderful Kitchen Team have been busy baking up a real treat this afternoon—this golden loaf has been lovingly prepared to be served alongside tonight’s warming (and also homemade!) minestrone soup. 🥣

The treats didn't stop there, though! Our Kitchen Assistant, Joseph, was hard at work this morning decorating a beautiful batch of homemade vanilla cupcakes for everyone’s afternoon tea. 🧁☕

It’s safe to say there are going to be some very happy residents at dinner time!

🌸 A Busy Day at Springbank Care Home! 🌸

Yesterday was a fantastic whirlwind of music, games, and looking after one another!

🎶 A Musical Morning

We started the day on a high note with a musical morning. Everyone enjoyed listening to some upbeat tracks and getting involved by playing along with various instruments!

🃏 Full House for Card Bingo!

In the afternoon, the lounge was absolutely buzzing! We had a full house for a lively game of Card Bingo. It was wonderful to see so many residents joining in and enjoying the friendly competition.

🧠 Quiz & Classics

Following the bingo, we tested our knowledge with a quiz, followed by a lovely sing-along. A special shout-out to our new resident, ‘R’, who requested some beautiful classics from Vera Lynn and Frank Sinatra—they were a hit with everyone!

🕯️ Wellbeing Wednesday

It wasn't just about the activities; yesterday was also Wellbeing Wednesday for our amazing team. We shared a special Self-Care box to make sure our staff are taking a moment to look after themselves while they look after others.

🎬 A "Loverly" Afternoon at Springbank! 🎬

Yesterday, our lounge was transformed into a mini cinema as we enjoyed a wonderful musical film afternoon.

We settled down to watch the timeless classic, My Fair Lady. There was plenty of toe-tapping and singing along to those famous favourites like "I Could Have Danced All Night" and "Wouldn't It Be Loverly". 🎶🌹

It was a fantastic way to spend the afternoon, reminiscing and enjoying the magic of the silver screen together.

🃏 A Fun-Filled Weekend at Springbank Care Home! 🎨

We’ve had a fantastic few days here at Springbank, filled with games, creativity, and plenty of winning smiles!

The atmosphere was electric on Friday as we hosted a morning of "Play Your Cards Right!" We had so many winners who managed to "keep it higher" or "lower" to scoop the top prizes. The excitement continued into the afternoon with a classic session of Card Bingo. It’s safe to say the competitive spirit was well and truly alive! 🏆

Saturday morning started with a bit of brainpower on Primrose, as we spent time working together on some wonderful puzzles. It was a lovely, relaxing way to start the day. In the afternoon, we let our creative juices flow with an Arts and Crafts session, where we saw some truly beautiful work being produced. 🖌️🧩

Well done to all our winners and a huge thank you to everyone who took part and made it such a lovely atmosphere.
