What a fantastic Mother’s Day we had yesterday across all four of our homes! It was a day filled with beautiful music, delicious treats, and some truly heartwarming reunions that reminded us all of the importance of family. 🌸✨

The celebrations kicked off with some incredible live performances that had everyone singing along. At Craven Nursing Home, the talented April Elizabeth moved us all with her powerful voice, bringing back so many happy memories through her songs after a lovely family lunch. Meanwhile, over at Steeton Court, Ukulele Henry was busy bringing the roof down with a lively performance that made for a brilliant atmosphere! 🎤🪕

Of course, no celebration is complete without something sweet. Our Mother’s Day café at Ghyll Royd was buzzing all day with stories and laughter over cream scones, Eton Mess cake, and waffles. At Springbank, we enjoyed a traditional Afternoon Tea featuring a selection of fresh sandwiches, homemade Wensleydale quiche, and those all-important fresh cream scones. 🍰☕️

Beyond the music and food, there were some very special moments that pulled at the heartstrings. We were absolutely delighted to welcome a four-legged visitor to Ghyll Royd! Dave the French Bulldog came to visit his "mum," resident 'M', for the very first time since she moved into our care. Seeing their reunion after he had been staying with 'M's niece was a beautiful highlight of a very special day. 🐶❤️

It was a joy to see so many sons, daughters, and families spending time together across our homes. Thank you to everyone who made it such a memorable day for our residents! 🥂🌷

It’s been a wonderfully busy few days at Springbank Care Home, and we have so many lovely updates to share with you all!

On Tuesday we spent a delightful day in our Very Busy Bloom Salon. It is always a pleasure to see everyone enjoying a bit of pampering and relaxation.

On Wednesday the middle of the week was packed with smiles and activity! We started with our best teas and coffee morning, which led perfectly into a lively game of Card Bingo in a full lounge. For Wellbeing Wednesday, our Sunshine Snack Bar was open for some refreshing treats to keep everyone feeling their best.

Our minibus was also out on the road as we headed to Silsden Town Hall for the Many Hands event. Back at the home, we burnt off some energy with a fantastic session of noodle tennis this afternoon, accompanied by a good old-fashioned singalong to some favourite tunes. Another group also made the most of the weather with a scenic afternoon excursion to Bolton Abbey.

Moments That Matter:
One of our most heartwarming highlights recently involved one of our lovely ladies, who received a very special present. As part of our 'Moments That Matter' initiative, we strive to create those personal, significant experiences that truly mean the world to our residents. Seeing the joy this gift brought was a beautiful reminder of why these moments are so important. 🌸☕️🚌

Springbank Care Home is delighted to announce the spectacular success of its recent ‘Through Our Eyes’ exhibition, which brought together residents, families, and the local community for a moving celebration of life and history.

🧵 Calling all crafters and sewing enthusiasts!

We’re looking for kind volunteers who enjoy sewing or simple crafting to help us transform old clothing into dignified clothing protectors for our residents.

Rather than traditional protectors, these will be made from real clothing items chosen to reflect each resident’s style, personality, and preferences — helping them maintain their sense of identity and dignity at mealtimes.

It’s also a wonderful recycling project. By repurposing clothing that might otherwise go to waste, we can create something practical, sustainable, and meaningful.

We’ll provide the clothing based on residents’ styles — all we need is a little time, creativity, and helping hands to turn them into useful mealtime protectors.

If you enjoy sewing, upcycling, or crafting and would like to support our residents in a thoughtful way, we would love to hear from you.

We had a wonderful day at Springbank Care Home yesterday, filled with music and memories! 🎶

Our morning was spent enjoying a trip down memory lane. We listened to classic songs that brought back so many fond stories, all while testing our knowledge with a lively morning quiz. It was a lovely way to share memories and have a good laugh together. 🧠✨

The entertainment continued into the afternoon with a fantastic performance from Stevie Fields! Our residents always enjoy a good singalong, and Stevie's performance created such a joyful atmosphere throughout the home. 🎤🌟

What a truly moving and memorable few days we have had at Springbank Care Home! 🌟

Our "Through Our Eyes" exhibition on Friday was a spectacular success, and we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us. This project began with a single, joyful photograph of our dear resident, ‘J’, which inspired us to find a way to bridge the gap between our residents' rich histories and the people we are privileged to know today. 📸

The exhibition featured stunning composite artwork, placing our residents as they are in 2026 directly into photographs from their own history. It was a beautiful way to celebrate their lifelong journeys, from past careers to cherished hobbies. One of the many highlights was welcoming a representative from our local football club, who spent the afternoon chatting with one of our residents. It was wonderful to see them reminiscing over amazing club photographs and sharing stories of their time as former teammates! ⚽️

The atmosphere in the lounge opposite was perfect, thanks to the fantastic tunes of Richard and Honey, our favourite singer and dog duo! 🎤🐕 From the cheerful "Blue Skies" by Belle Baker to hits by The Beatles, the music set a celebratory tone that flowed throughout the home. 🎶

The creative spirit continued into Saturday morning with a themed crafting session. We spent a relaxing morning making vibrant spring flowers while enjoying some upbeat hits from the 1970s. 🌸

It has been a weekend full of storytelling, nostalgia, and community spirit. 💖

Our Through Our Eyes - Exhibition has gotten off to a fantastic start this afternoon! Thank you to everyone who has already joined us to make the afternoon so special. The exhibition is open until 4pm to allow all our residents, relatives, visiting professions and invited guests to take a look at the photographs and learn a little more about our residents. We’ve had a fantastic few days here at Springbank Care Home! 🚐✨

Wednesday was all about getting out and about. We enjoyed a lovely morning trip to Sutton Park followed by a wonderful afternoon at Salts Mill! 🌳🎨 It was a particularly special trip for one of our residents, who is a talented artist themselves, to see the incredible David Hockney exhibition. It was lovely to share those creative moments together. 🖼️✨

The fun continued on Thursday as the lovely Lisa worked her magic in the salon, making everyone look and feel their best. 💇‍♀️💅 We then had a wonderful afternoon visit from The Hive nursery, with the children playing games and visiting residents across the units. Their energy always brings so much laughter to the home! 🧸👶😊
