☕ Memory Lane and Laughter at Springbank! 🌷

We've had a wonderful couple of days filled with warmth, remembrance, and fun! Yesterday was a truly special day, starting with our best-ever teas and coffee morning where we watched the Remembrance Parade on the television. A fantastic memory box, kindly donated by Boots, sparked lots of emotional and happy memories amongst our residents. ❤️ We also had a wonderful time celebrating a resident's birthday! The afternoon brought a brilliant game of Card Bingo, followed by a lively quiz—lots of laughs and winners all round!

Today, for Wellbeing Wednesday, we are embracing cosiness with a delicious hot chocolate station! It's the perfect treat to keep everyone warm and well.

We are thrilled to give you a peek inside Springbank Care Home with this 360 photo of one of our beautiful lounges!

Springbank was originally built in 1875 (150 years ago!) by a local mill owner. The current owners, the Spellman family, have lovingly and respectfully restored this grand building to its former glory, honouring its rich heritage while ensuring it offers the highest standard of modern comfort.

Each of our four unique lounges is designed with a different purpose in mind:

🏠Some are busy, vibrant spaces filled with fun activities, entertainment, and companionship.

🏠Others are relaxing spots perfect for enjoying a quiet cuppa, reading, or spending peaceful time with family.

🏠All offer stunning views across local fields, often filled with sheep and beautiful local wildlife.

This particular lounge, Heather Lounge, is just one example of the character you'll find throughout Springbank. Take a moment to look around and imagine yourself or a loved one settling in!

We believe Springbank is more than just a care home; it’s a character-filled home where history meets modern, compassionate care delivered with Kindness, Dignity and Compassion.

'Highly commended' honour for care home head chef

We are absolutely bursting with pride! Huge congratulations to our incredible Head Chef, Eve!

Eve was 'Highly Commended' for The Care Home Cook/Chef Award at this year's Great British Care Awards (Yorkshire and the Humber Region)! 🏆

This recognition celebrates Eve's commitment to culinary excellence, especially her focus on our residents. As the judges noted:

"Eve combines culinary skill with resident-focused innovation, adapting meals to ensure independence, nutrition, and enjoyment. Her leadership, creativity, and commitment to sharing knowledge with her team enhance the dining experience and wellbeing of residents, making her an inspiring and deserving candidate."

At the Going Down of the Sun, and in the Morning, We Will Remember Them. 🌅

Yesterday, Remembrance Sunday was a day of solemn reflection and deep gratitude. The community gathered at Keighley Cenotaph to honour the memory of those who gave their lives in service.

As a Veteran-Friendly Care Home, we were incredibly proud that our residents were able to take part.

It was an immense privilege to see our veterans, supported by our dedicated staff, participate in the ceremony and lay a wreath at the Cenotaph. Their presence served as a powerful, moving reminder of their courage and the enduring cost of freedom.

The service was especially poignant, offering a chance to share a moment of respectful silence with many familiar faces from our Veterans Cafés.

Following the tributes, everyone found warmth and companionship at the Keighley Drill Hall for refreshments. It was a lovely opportunity to reflect on a respectful day and share treasured memories.

Thank you to everyone who made the day so poignant and special.

What an incredible few days we've had here at Springbank Care Home! 🌟 Our hearts were filled with joy during Musical Moments on Wednesday, as we sang our hearts out and created unforgettable memories! And let's not forget our inspiring trip to the Many Hands Craft Session at Silsden Town Hall, where creativity flowed, and our peaceful visit to Bolton Abbey, where we savoured every moment over a delightful cuppa ☕️. Also on Wednesday, our talented Kitchen Team whipped up a treat as we celebrated bonfire night with scrumptious bonfire desserts for afternoon tea, igniting our taste buds! And the cherry on top was the amazing visit from Heart Farm today, where we fell in love with Shambi, Doogle, Gracie, Snoozie, and Greta! 🐐❤️

What a few amazing days we’ve had at Springbank! We’ve been celebrating a huge milestone alongside a fantastic Halloween party!

🎂 A Century of Celebration

A massive highlight was celebrating one of our incredible residents reaching their 100th Birthday! This wonderful occasion was shared with loving family and friends, and we were delighted when our resident received a special letter from King Charles and Queen Camilla—a truly memorable honour!

The amazing kitchen team put on the most spectacular spread for the celebration, including an absolutely brilliant birthday cake to mark the milestone.

🧙‍♀️ Halloween Fun & Fantastic Food!

We also had a fantastic Halloween Party! Our Head Chef, Eve, looked wonderfully spooky dressed as a witch and presented an array of amazing, creative, and delicious Halloween nibbles! We certainly weren't short on treats!

A huge thank you to all our staff for making the last few days so special and memorable!
