🌟Trigger warning🌟

Breast Feeding

Today i I fed my daughter of 21months next to a new mum of 6 weeks. It was lovely to chat. The one thing that i often hear with new mums is that they often feel like they’re not producing enough breast milk. This is because new mums can often compare how much they pump
to how much milk is recommended on the back of a container of formula and how could 5ml/10ml possibility be enough? In my view it is. Their stomachs are so tiny and it’s about quality not the quantity of milk we provide them with. Babies also have a very strong sucking reflex which means they could happily suckle for hours.

Bottle feeding Mums may have to adapt how much they give too. Remember milk measures are guideline based on an average (what is that?) sized baby.

What are your experiences with bottle or breast feeding? What tips or words of wisdom would you pass on a new mum?

This week in our antenatal pilates class, whilst exercising. As we’re good at multitasking 🙂 We were discussing gentle c section births where the baby is encouraged to push and to birth a little more naturally and delayed cord clamping, which is know to have huge benefits. What are your thoughts, experiences on these topics?

From an exercise perspective we’ve been toning our arms with light hand weights, lengthening and stretching the spine and lateral breathing to open out the ribs and diaphragm. We also worked on using the full exhale to help with breathing during labour.

Another wonderful and insightful class.

Hello all, Pilates for Pregnancy and Beyond - Sittingbourne class restarts tomorrow saturday 14th at 11am and runs every week @ AquaManda Spa Hempstead House Hotel, Bapchild. Suitable for 14weeks plus £9 per class (in monthly blocks)

It’s a class I’ve been teaching regularly and on demand for the last 10 years and I’m which have great fun teaching. It is essentially an exercise and movement class suitable and adapted for all stages of pregnancy (unless contraindicated to exercise)

We talk, move, stretch and discuss all things pregnancy and more. It’s a lovely community class. If you’re keen to have me time, keep posture in check and continue to exercise throughout or if you have clients of friends that you think would benefit please get in touch.

A little glimpse of our online Antenatal classes. I’ve missed seeing my mums to be in class but so happy we have all kept moving together, breathing, stretching, relaxing and keeping our minds focused online. As I’m due in 10 days classes are finishing soon but do keep in touch and follow us for postnatal strengthening and recovery for 6-8 weeks postnatal! Keep in touch and take care! Dee x
