Every child deserves the chance to play, laugh and thrive. ✨
Living with a rare chromosomal deletion means Scheherazade needs round‑the‑clock care - but she’s also a bright, giggly little girl who loves music, sensory play and dancing.
"The care and support you get from Demelza is specialist – they understand your child and they understand your circumstances. It’s that mixture of specialist care, but also fun as well! They bring joy into your family." - Rebecca, mum to Scheherazade.

For many families, our hydropool at the Kent hospice is their only chance to swim and have fun in the water with their child. 💧
Last year saw an incredible 151 physio and aquatic therapy sessions take place - more than double the number from the year before. Each session offers children the chance to feel weightless, relaxed and free, while families share precious moments together.
Thanks to your support, we can keep making waves of difference for children and families who need us most. 🌊

Demelza Hospice Care for Children is a charity providing specialist care and emotional support for children with terminal conditions, and their loved ones across Kent, South East London and East Sussex.
Our Mission:
At Demelza, we believe every child and young person who has a terminal condition should receive the care and attention they need to live the most fulfilling life they can. We aim to provide specialist care and support to babies, children, and young people, to give them and their families the opportunity to build memories, for however long they have together. Demelza’s care covers diagnosis, day to day family life, times of crisis, end of life, and through bereavement, providing support for all those affected.
Company Overview:
Demelza provides specialist care and emotional support for children with terminal conditions and their loved ones, so they can enjoy their time together as a family, for as long as they have.
We care for children with a range of different conditions, some of which are very complex and so rare, they have no name.
Our services include:
- Hospice at home care
- Hospice Care
- Planned Short Breaks
- Emergency Respite
- Therapies
- Symptom Control
- End of Life Care
- Bereavement Support
These services are currently provided through Demelza Kent, our hospice in Sittingbourne, Demelza South East London, a six bedded hospice in Eltham, and Demelza Community, our hospice at home service operating in East Sussex.
As a charity, we’re almost entirely dependent on the generosity of our supporters to provide the funds that keep our services going.
Please make sure every family can depend on us when they need us most.
