We have so many stunning themes coming up, each week is new and different.
Come walk with us through a twinkly Winter Wonderland, venture to the woods for a Pudsy Picnic and gaze in awe as we put on a show during our Light Festival!

We also have visits from the team at MiniBig Studios 📸 so you can get some festive photos of your little ones and Popolo Ceremico will be stopping by to create beautiful pottery pieces, decorated with baby’s hand and foot prints 👣

This October, our sessions have been full of little pumpkins, cosy costumes, and seasonal fun.

With gentle tunes, magical sensory play, and just a touch of Halloween (non spooky - just sensory) sparkle, we've loved celebrating this special time of year with our amazing babies and parents. 🧡

Public Service Announcement....

The clocks will go back by one hour at 2:00 AM on Sunday, October 26th. This change marks the end of British Summer Time (BST) and a return to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), giving people an extra hour of sleep (LOL!) and bringing darker evenings.

You may find our sleep blogs helpful in managing your sleep routine as clocks "fall back."

Our heritage...

The magic behind Baby Sensory® started with a deep understanding of how babies communicate long before they can speak!

Dr Lin, founder of Baby Sensory®, began her journey working with children and young adults with sensory impairments and speech & language difficulties. During this time, she trained as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator and learned to use sign language to connect and communicate.

During this time she discovered that babies are natural signers. They quickly pick up signs to express their needs and it opened up a whole new world of connection.

This powerful insight helped shape Baby Sensory® as we know it today, supporting early communication through play, signs, and sensory learning.

Play is fundamental to healthy brain and physical development. Play is how babies explore, connect, and understand the world around them.

Play also builds language & social skills, sparks creativity, curiosity & critical thinking, lays the foundation for reading, maths & scientific discovery and helps babies express emotions & manage frustration.

Play is so essential, it’s recognised as a basic human right. No matter the culture or the tools, all babies play, and through it, they learn who they are.

Toddler Sense — Did you know?

Dr Lin Day developed Baby Sensory®, Toddler Sense® and Hello Baby to provide parents with the support and knowledge necessary to lead their baby’s learning and development forwards in the most important years of their lives.

In 1987 and three weeks after the birth of her fourth child Imogen, Lin set up Woodford Nursery School in the local village hall and gained her Diploma in the Montessori Method of Education at St Nicholas College, London.

Over the 15 years of Woodford Nursery School, materials such as the sea, jungle, rain and snow cloths, play band, rope snake, holed cloth, Conga crocodile and other products and activities unique to Baby Sensory® and Toddler Sense® were developed, tested, and refined and are still used today.

Our Story

Baby Sensory classes provide hundreds of sensory development activities that are great fun for parents and babies to share in the vital first year. Baby Sensory is the only Baby Development programme with classes specifically designed for babies from birth.

Baby Sensory classes provide hundreds of simple activities that are fun for babies from birth to 13 months. Our baby classes include baby activities ranging from signing to fibre optic light shows, amazing light balls, bubbles and bells; there is always something different. Many of these activities are set to our own Baby Sensory music which is available on CD. What is really exciting about Baby Sensory is that it is an parent and baby group where many of the sensory materials and baby activities are unique to the programme.

Each class includes seven different activities each week and a discovery play time, during which baby can enjoy our sensory play area whilst parents have the opportunity to meet.
