Hillside Practice Participation group met on the 11th of November 2025, as part of the meeting all comments and suggestion forms were discussed.
Please see below the practices response to comments/suggestions made.
1. Fresh water and cups in waiting area for patients waiting for appointments
Whilst we donât have water facilities in the waiting area, any patient needing a drink can ask the receptionist who will be happy to get you one.
2. Home Visits for patients over 90 years old with poor mobility.
Home visits are provided for patients where there is a clinical need. If patients are struggling to get to the practice due to poor mobility, pleased contact the practice where Individual circumstances will be assessed and support will be offered where appropriate..
3. Information on local groups for people struggling with Mental Health.
The practice promotes information around the building and on the practices page on local support groups available, we also have a social prescriber at the practice who on referral will be able to advise and direct you to additional services.
4. Adverts on the television screens in waiting area.
The advert television is supplied by a third-party company, the practice is currently liaising with them to ensure it is updated on a frequent basis.
5. Children's activity area
To help maintain a clean and safe environment for all our patients and visitors, we have removed shared childrenâs toys from the waiting area. This change helps us reduce the spread of germs and ensure a higher standard of hygiene.
We understand that waiting with children can be challenging â feel free to bring your childâs own toy, book, or electronic device from home to help keep them entertained while waiting.
6. Extend hold queue for morning calls â having to repeatedly call at 8.30am, by the time you get through there was no appointments left leaving it difficult to get prescription for medications.
We understand how important it is for patients to contact us as early as possible. Our team works hard to manage all calls and appointment requests between 8:00 and 6.00pm. We do everything we can during this time to help as many patients as possible. However, demand is often very high, due to this the hold queue facility has recently been increased.
The practice offers a hybrid appointment system, including the online e-Consult facility. E- Consults can be submitted any time within practice opening hours.
We would like to thank all patients who completed the comments/suggestions forms, and feedback is always welcomed.
