We have done some remembrance poppy work this morning and put them up to remind us of the sacrifices made by our armed forces in the wars in the last two centuries . A lot of our residents have very vivid memories of world war 2 , of the work their parents did , serving in the forces or in factories making vital supplies for the war . Our residents remember their families growing their own vegetables to supplement food rationing and of being child evacuees to the countryside to keep them safe . 🥰
