One of the things I hear most often at the start of a session is:

“I didn’t realise how tense I was until I lay down.”

A lot of people are carrying:

👉 tight shoulders
👉 sore lower backs
👉 jaw tension
👉 stress sitting in the stomach

Often it builds up slowly, so it becomes the new normal.

Taking time to release some of that tension can make a real difference to sleep, comfort, and overall energy levels.

Not all tension comes from physical strain.

A lot of it comes from holding things in your head:

🔸remembering everything
🔸planning ahead
🔸worrying quietly
🔸being the one who keeps things together

That constant background load can show up in the body without you even noticing.

It’s not always about what you’re doing physically - sometimes it’s just how much you’re carrying mentally.

They book when:

🔸Sleep is disrupted
🔸Tension won’t shift
🔸Stress starts affecting daily life
🔸They realise they’ve been putting themselves last for a while

Something I hear a lot during sessions is how my clients didn’t realise how much tension they were holding until they took a moment to breathe and actually rest.

Tension usually builds over time until it becomes normal, so you don’t feel it until you stop.

One day, you notice:
👉 Your shoulders are always raised
👉 Your jaw is tight
👉 You can’t fully relax

The body adapts, but that tension also builds over time, and sometimes the hardest part isn’t releasing the tension, it’s noticing it in the first place, so this is your reminder to sit and connect with your body often, release what you can and ask for help for the tension you can’t.

A gentle reminder that our next Nidra & Sound session is on Sunday, 15th February 🌙

These sessions are a chance to step away from the noise of everyday life and settle into deep rest, supported by guided Nidra and soothing sound.

Held in the peaceful setting of the Yorkshire Dales, it’s a cosy, grounding experience, especially at this time of year when many of us are feeling the need to slow down and reset.

🗓 Sunday 15th February 2026
🕑 Sessions: 2pm–4pm & 6pm–8pm
💷 Price: £30 per person

One of the most interesting things to notice is how quickly the body can change once it feels safe enough to relax; breathing slows, shoulders drop, and muscles soften on their own.

It’s not something you have to force, but it is something the body already knows how to do when it gets the chance.

Most of us just don’t give it many opportunities.

Sometimes a small window of calm is all it takes to remind the body what settling feels like. 💕
