I have been providing psychological support to numerous people since 2005 when I volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Care. Since then I have gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling, and a Masters Degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling. Through the years I have gained experience in several counselling services as a volunteer, such as Cruse, NHS Primary Care Mental Health Team, and Salute (Veteran Support organisation, Burnley). If you’re thinking about starting therapy, please get in touch and we can discuss how your needs can be best met. Counselling is a talking therapy which can create a safe place for you to explore your emotions, feelings, and experiences to increase your understanding and consider different perspectives. Working this way with a Counsellor lets you enhance your self-awareness and attend to your own well being. Psychotherapy supports Counselling by empowering you to change behaviours, deal with emotions, overcome specific issues, and improve relationships and social interaction. The relationship between us as client and counsellor is crucial to the therapy: as we progress through the therapeutic journey the trust we develop between us creates the safe place for you to explore more difficult issues. My training and approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy is integrative, meaning that I use a range of theoretical backgrounds to inform my practice; the main theories that are a foundation to my practice are Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Attachment Theory. Sessions are one hour long and a variety of times area available, please contact me the check availability
