✨ The Story Behind Café Mama✨

Café Mama was born from a very personal journey. Amèlie, our founder, experienced a challenging start to breastfeeding with her first daughter, Ayat. Feeling lost and overwhelmed, she sought support at a local children’s centre in Slough. There, a kind maternity support worker guided her, giving her the confidence and knowledge she needed and a sense of community.

Week by week, Amèlie learned, grew, and formed lasting friendships with other mums. Inspired by the support she received, the maternity worker encouraged AmÊlie and her friends to train as breastfeeding peer supporters, empowering them to help other mums navigate their own journeys.

Even while life got busy with work and the arrival of her second and third children, AmĂŠlie kept the idea of CafĂŠ Mama close to her heart. With more experience, time, and a passion for supporting mums, she finally brought the vision to life in 2019.

What started as a breastfeeding support group has blossomed into so much more: a safe, welcoming space for mums and babies to connect, share, and receive support in all aspects of motherhood🫂💕

Café Mama is here because every mum deserves encouragement, understanding, and community—just like Amélie once did 💪🏻👏

✨They say it takes a village to raise a child… but it also takes one to hold the mother✨

Because behind every little milestone, every scraped knee, and every bedtime story, there’s a mama who needs care, encouragement, and someone to lean on 🫶

Supporting a mother isn’t optional, it’s part of the village too. When we lift up moms, we lift up the whole family 💪🏻

Motherhood isn’t just soft moments and picture perfect memories… it’s layered, raw, and sometimes contradictory.

You can feel overwhelming love and quiet resentment in the same breath.
You can be deeply grateful… and completely exhausted.
You can give everything to your child and still wonder where you went.

There’s invisible work no one applauds.
There are identity shifts no one prepares you for.
There are days you don’t recognise yourself and nights you miss who you used to be.

And still… you show up.
Again and again.

If you’ve ever felt this way, you’re not alone.
You’re human. And you’re doing better than you think 🤍

Pregnant and feeling nervous? 🤍 You’re not alone, mama. Every flutter, every change, every unknown can feel overwhelming—but your body was made for this journey. Trust yourself, take it one day at a time, and remember: it’s okay to feel excited and scared all at once.

Breathe deeply, rest when you need to, and surround yourself with support. You’re already doing an amazing job growing your little one. 💫

Save this for days when you need a reminder—you’ve got this. 🤍

Motherhood is beautiful… but it’s also exhausting, overwhelming, lonely, and nothing like what most of us were prepared for.

And we don’t talk about that enough.

You can love your kids more than anything in this world… and still have days where you feel touched out, lost, and questioning everything.

That doesn’t make you a bad mum.
It makes you an honest one.

Some of us are out here holding everything together with zero support, running on no sleep, carrying the mental load 24/7… and still being told to “enjoy every moment.”

Be honest, when was the last time someone asked how you are… and actually meant it?

If any of this hit, you’re not alone. Not even close.
