Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.

With this years theme being 'Make Caring Visible, Valued and Supported', it is our responsibility as an employer to ensure we:

* Actively welcome feedback and input from family members and involve them in decisions about the care package and support provided to the person needing care.

* Signpost advice, information and support services to carers.

* Recognise that some of our staff will have unpaid caring responsibilities of their own.

Calling all gardeners!

๐ŸŒฑ One of our services is asking for donations to help keep their Gardening Club running.

๐ŸŒป Gardening offers a safe and secure space for Service Users to mix socially and learn practical skills which can help them become more independent.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŒพ Gardening can also improve physical health through exercise and can aid Service Users with reduced mobility to learn how to use or strengthen their muscles.

Please help by spreading the word and sharing this post.

Thank you!

Developing long-term habits for oral health is all about creating positive experiences.

This film, produced by the NHS, outlines the steps you can take to provide a positive experience for those with learning disabilities and autism visiting the dentist.

This film features Charlotte, Senior Community Dentist and Chair of England Community Dental Services Committee (ECSDC), and Gary, an actor with a learning disability who is part of the MiXit theatre group.

This yearโ€™s Dementia Action Week campaign will run from 16-22 May, and the theme is diagnosis.

Research shows that the misconception around memory loss being a sign of normal ageing is the biggest barrier to people seeking a dementia diagnosis.

With diagnosis rates falling to a five-year low, we want to encourage those who might be living with undiagnosed dementia to seek guidance and support and feel empowered to take the next step.

It's Dementia Action Week, and we wanted to explore this year's theme 'Diagnosis'.

There are many reasons for symptoms that look like dementia. These include many conditions that can be treated, and there are other conditions that affect memory.

Often, itโ€™s a combination of things that cause symptoms. Seeing the GP can help you get the treatment you need to feel better.

The restrictions on social contact during 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic led to widespread concern about loneliness.
The pandemic also highlighted the importance of social connections and relationships for our well-being and ability to cope in challenging times.

We've pulled some stats from the 'Campaign To End Loneliness' report that explores the impact of Covid-19 on loneliness.
It sums up what weโ€™ve learned from our responses, what we can expect in the future, and the opportunity this insight gives us to create a more connected recovery.
