So exciting! Not long now

A little peek inside while we are setting up our new space in Halesowen. 👀

It was all white walls and ceiling and grey concrete floor. We wanted a space full of colour and warmth and we did it, thanks to the hard work of Karl of and his endless patience putting drapes up and taking them down and putting them up again, and Maddison of and her awesome kids and me too - and our kind supporters who have donated tables chairs, supplies and more - all of us bringing our ideas, toys, books, games, furniture soft furnishings and elbow grease to the space ! 🙌

Can you come on Saturday and help us name the space? 11am-2pm we are open for community drop in to meet the team and enjoy some free activities.

It’s on Somers Square next to Iceland in Halesowen.

Meet some of the team who will be bringing the activities and services at the new Halesowen Hub.

✨ The Halesowen Hub is opening! ✨

We’re so excited to launch our brand new pop-up space in the heart of Halesowen — a joint project between Creative Active Lives DigiTribe Project, La Luz Life Coach & Wellbeing Services, and Active Bodies 4 Focused Minds.

It’s a welcoming place for everyone — families, home educators, young people and adults — to connect, create, move, and look after their wellbeing.

We are holding an open day on Saturday 8th November where you can come in and meet the team, help us name the space, take part in activities including Lego, crafts, Minecraft, Dance, and let us know what you would like to see here!

Come and join us at 26 Hagley Street (on Somers Square next to the flower stall) from 11am - 2pm on Saturday 8th November! Please note, as we are a pop-up space we do not have a public toilet, the nearest toilets are in the Cornbow Centre.

This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

We are able to create this community pop up space in partnership with Centric Community Projects.

Thanks to the wonderful team at Norton Fire of Stourbridge who made this space safe and whose community support and charity helped make this possible.

Today we stand in solidarity with anyone who has experienced Domestic abuse or/and Domestic violence.

October marks Domestic abuse awareness month.

At La Luz, we have members of staff who have experienced Domestic abuse, and are happy to share their experiences to help others. We want to let them, and the world know that Domestic abuse is never ok, and we are here to help.

No one should suffer because of another person's behaviour. We actively provide support, information and guidance to whoever needs it. As well as signpost to relevant organisations who can assist.

Domestic abuse act 2021 states that Domestic abuse is not just physical but can also be coercive behaviour. These behaviours can sometimes continue after the person has escaped an abusive relationship. If you are in this situation, there are many places you can reach out for support. Such as refuge.org.uk

Don't go through this alone. Reach out. Heal. Thrive.

Essential criteria: youth work experience, confident working online and in person, confident in supporting gaming activities online and in person as part of general youth work.

This is a zero hours contract with up to 10 hours available per week, mix of weekdays and occasional weekend work.

There has been several events recently that may have affected you or someone you may know.

Although we run services in Birmingham, Dudley and surrounding areas, we are predominantly based in Bearwood. Many people may have heard about the tragic events that occurred in Warley Woods yesterday. If you are affected and need someone to talk to please do get in touch or reach out to one of the specialist helplines in this post.

No one should go unsupported. Start the conversation today.

Many councils, such as Sandwell council - healthy minds can offer support or point you to the right direction to organisations, just like ours.

We were specially invited to OLDP's AMG. It was one like we had never been to before, full hands on experience of what fabulous work they do!

There focus is supporting Women, some of their works involves getting women trained in construction, painting and decorating.

We can't wait to work with and along side all that were present today 💥

What a fabulous evening facilitating week 4 of wellbeing through nature programme.
Amazing thought provoking conversation, art and mindfulness, just what you need to start the week off.

We connected art with nature, recognising patterns in everything we see and things we feel.

Reclaiming Wellbeing will be hosting more of these 8 week programmes in the coming months, look out for further information.

La Luz Services offers creative sessions to allow individuals to immerse themselves in the arts, using colour and calm to create your own personal masterpiece centred around your emotions, thoughts and creativity.

World Mental Health Day.

30 minutes just for you! Sound like a dream? Come down to Salvation Army on Friday mornings, join in with the stay and play from 9:30am, and at 9:45am sneak off to join the parents group.

A judgment free group, with conversations, support, laughs and relaxation. Then we go back to the children (if you came with your child) back in the stay and play at around 10:15am.

Free tea and coffee
Free healthy snacks for the little ones.

If you would like to join the parents group but not the stay and play, no problem! Just let them know at the entrance and you'll be guided to the parents group room.
