Young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, abuse and emotional difficulties are more likely to have brains that less developed than peers that have not experienced such issues. This is key to understanding upstairs and downstairs brain in older children.

I am fortunate that working for Attachments mean I can do a job that I am passionate about alongside an amazing team of foster parents and staff that also believe wholeheartedly in our company ethos. As a parent of children with medical and additional needs this poem came to my attention several years ago but it struck me today how relevant it could be for foster parents. Deciding to foster (or have a baby) is the start of a journey, full of advice, expectations and preparations. When your first placement arrives all your dreams, hopes and plans for Italy might have to be adapted for your stay in Holland. The key is, it might not be the journey you planned but you can still appreciate Holland! Denise 😊
