Our volunteer Jan returned this week for another lovely arts and crafts session, and as always, it brought smiles all round.

Residents created seasonal decorations and tried their hand at painting and collage, all in a relaxed, social setting with plenty of gentle encouragement.

Thank you, Jan, for the time, creativity and care you bring. Activities like these aren’t just about making things, they’re about building confidence, sharing laughter, and enjoying something new together.

Live music always brings a special energy to the home, and Nicole’s recent visit was no exception.

Her performance had residents singing along, clapping in time, and enjoying a joyful afternoon full of warmth and nostalgia. These moments are so much more than entertainment, they spark memories, lift moods, and create beautiful shared experiences.

There’s something so special about a good games afternoon, and our latest one didn’t disappoint!

Residents gathered for a relaxed afternoon of bingo, dominoes, word games and puzzles, all shared with cups of tea and warm conversation. These sessions are about more than play, they encourage connection, gentle stimulation, and laughter among friends.

Recently, we had a very special visitor at Swallows Meadow Court: the Mayor of Solihull.

It was an honour to welcome her into our home, where she spent time chatting with residents, hearing their stories, and learning more about the care we provide.

The Mayor’s interest and warmth meant so much to our team and our residents. Her visit was a reminder of how valued older people are in our wider community, and how important it is to nurture those connections.

From witches and pumpkins to laughter and sweets, Halloween was a treat at Swallows Meadow Court.

Residents and staff embraced the spirit of the day, donning costumes, decorating the lounge, and sharing in a little bit of seasonal silliness. For many, these celebrations are a chance to reminisce, reconnect, and simply have fun in good company.
