MIND, BODY & DANCE HAS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED!

I’m so proud and honoured to be a part of this awesome project to help dancers across the globe be healthy, and happy whilst achieving their dreams 🤍

As many of you are aware, food was a huge challenge for me for a bunch of reasons when I was competing. Food relationships weight management and mindset were all things that I had to overcome whilst trying to reach competitive goals.

I know how hard it can be and I AM HEARING YOU 🤍

A GENTLE REMINDER…

I am a huge advocate for making sure that when trying to eat differently, barely eating is never the way to do it.

HOWEVER

Sometimes we have to not only think about eating for energy … but eating for YOU. 🙋🏻‍♀️

EATING WITH OUR EYES 👀

Have you ever seen a plate and someone’s said “it’s not about presentation…”

WHHHHAAAATTT?!

All of our senses work together in harmony… and this function around food is no different.

If one of those senses is impaired or insufficient… we rely on the others for information.

So if all you can go off is the look before tasting (a bug thing in covid-19 with smell/taste loss!)

So make your dishes pretty people! Take that extra couple of minutes every now and again to treat your eyes as well as your taste buds!

DO YOU ENJOY EXERCISE…? 🤸🏽‍♀️

I definitely don’t.

Because immediately, when someone mentions it, I think of going to the gym, being stared/laughed at, or frustration.

EXERCISE IS NOT JUST THE GYM!

Exercise can be walking, dancing in ya kitchen, stretching, yoga, swimming… the list goes on.

It’s really important aside from what we are putting into our bodies, to prioritise movement.

Not just for our physical health, but for mental health and our soul too!

Decreasing the amount of refined sugar we consume can be a good thing.

There’s research to support this flying EVERYWHERE these days.

BUT …

if we expel all sugars, we cause more problems than we may have started with (read above).

BREAKFAST 🍳

Confession: I’m not a big breakfast person.

Like at all.

I’m not an early bird with a humongous breakfast… intact I’d rather go with out.

HOWEVER

I never do go without. Skipping breakfast is one of the biggest mistakes I see in anyone trying to lose weight.

The trick is to FIND A BREAKFAST YOU VIBE WITH… infact, find a few!

Focus on when you WANT to eat breakie, what your doing while eating it, why it sets you up for the day ahead!

I was starving all day today. Not a lot of reason as to why…

Didn’t feel as though I needed to justify or go deep into the back story fuelling it.

Sometimes it’s nothing to do with not being satisfied, or restricting… sometimes hormones and your body just crave food.

AND IT’S NORMAL!

I didn’t dwell, I really enjoyed the food and I felt awesome after nourishing the craving🥰

HAPPY SEPTEMBER PEOPLE! 🍂🍁

Pinch, punch 1st of the month and all that jazz…

Wanted to take today’s post to emphasise the journey.

Beginning, middle or end.

Often it can be extremely hard to start, proceed or come to any conclusion during a journey… especially a food-related one.

Changing habits, attitudes and being food-mindful can be a drastic difference and it’s a bug step to take.

So wherever you are, at whatever stage…

Be kind, honest and forgiving to yourself.

No journey is impossible unless you never start it…
