Today, we celebrate love that shows up in everyday moments — a reassuring hand, a kind word, a familiar smile.

For many of the people we support, love looks like quiet companionship, sharing stories from the past with one another, or someone who listens and understands.

At Right at Home Solihull, we feel privileged to be part of those moments. Our Carers help Clients stay connected to the relationships and memories that matter, offering care that supports comfort and belonging.

However you spend today, we hope it brings warmth and a sense of being valued.

💛 From all of us at Right at Home Solihull, Happy Valentine’s Day.

Thank you for this wonderful feedback!

“I cannot praise Right at Home enough. Not only for the continuous, warm, friendly and respectful care the team have shown my Dad, but the care and support they have shown us as a family during what has been a very stressful time.

My Dad has loved having the visits – they’ve helped him feel less isolated, while also supporting his physical care. We feel very lucky to have found the team and know we can talk to them at any time about his evolving needs.”

Supporting Clients to live safely and comfortably at home also means supporting the people who love them. We’re proud to provide care that adapts as needs change – with reassurance, consistency and compassion at its heart.

This is a really good visualisation of how different types of Dementia looks by Alzheimer's Society. If you know someone who needs help with Dementia, then give us a call or drop us a message and we'd be more than happy to share our expertise and see how we can help ☎️

Did you know there are many different types of dementia?

Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia and dementia with Lewy bodies are four of the most common forms of dementia, and they can all affect people differently.

This is our guide to a few of the most common symptoms for each illness.

Dementia looks different for everyone, so a person’s symptoms may not look exactly as they are described here.

However by knowing the signs, we can make sure that we don’t brush off or ignore some of these lesser-known symptoms, to help everyone with dementia get a crucial early diagnosis.

Save this post for later, and if you’d like more info visit our website or give our Dementia Support Line a call on 0333 150 3456.

Thank you for this wonderful review! At Right at Home, we pride ourselves on promoting independence and improving quality of life for people with care requirements. Sometimes it just takes a little extra support so you can stay in your own home and continue living life as you want.

"We used Right at Home to help a close friend who had been diagnosed with Alzheimers and needed some home support. This was fairly light to start with but increased over time. The kind and professional support they were able to give meant that our friend was able to continue to live in her own property. The care was exceptional, with regular Carers and any changes handled sensitively. The support from the staff in the office was also excellent and they were always happy to adapt to our changing needs."

With the festive season winding down, most of us are returning back to our usual hectic schedules. This can be an especially difficult time for family carers, who often have to juggle caregiving requirements with the school run, a full-time job, and other tasks.

If you could do with a bit of extra support during January, Right at Home's respite care service can give you peace of mind that your loved one is in safe hands while you tend to other responsibilities, or just take some time for yourself. From one-off visits to comprehensive care plans, our approach to respite care is to tailor each visit to your loved one's usual routine, offering seamless support that promotes consistency and independence.

When our Carers first met Peter, he had returned home from hospital after a period of ill health and was still regaining his strength. His mobility was limited and his confidence had taken a hit, meaning he was reluctant to leave the house.

After contacting Right at Home, we matched Peter with a small team of dedicated Carers who helped him around the house and supported him to attend nearby classes for gentle exercise. At the class, he could connect with old friends and make new ones, giving him back his connection to his local area and community.

Not only did Peter's physical wellbeing improve, but he regained his confidence and sense of independence. As he recovered and his self-belief returned, we were able to reduce his visits in line with his needs and take a step back, as he continued to hit new milestones and go from strength to strength.

At Right at Home, we're committed to empowering our Clients to live well at home and in their local community, enhancing quality of life and emotional wellbeing.

Feeling the January blues? Here are some ways to stay positive and lift your spirits during this chilly and dark month:

Don’t isolate yourself - Reach out to your loved ones and stay connected, whether you see them in person or give them a quick call.

Stay active - Even light exercises, such as a short walk, can boost your energy and lift your mood.

Eat well - When it’s cold, it’s important to eat enough, and nothing beats healthy, home-cooked meals.
Don’t hesitate to ask for help - If you need some extra support at home to stay happy and well, homecare is ideal for you.

At Right at Home, our teams provide tailored Care & Support Plans that can enhance your quality of life and ensure you can keep living the life you love, in the comfort of your own home.
