🚨 Martyn’s Law is here – is your premises ready?

The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 makes terrorism preparedness a legal duty for premises with 200+ capacity.

With enforcement coming by April 2027, the time to prepare is now.

In our latest Evac Talk post, we answer the most common questions organisations are asking - from tier requirements to penalties, and what true compliance really looks like.

🚨 The second fire in Birmingham in one week - this time on the ninth floor of a high-rise near Great Barr, a reminder of how quickly emergencies can happen. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. From 6th April 2026, under the Fire Safety (Residential Evacuation Plans) (England) Regulations 2025, building owners will be required to:
-Identify residents who may need extra support to evacuate
-Carry out person-centred fire risk assessments
-Prepare Residential Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (RPEEPs)
-Maintain building-wide evacuation plans and share them with the local Fire and Rescue Authority
-These measures help ensure all residents can leave safely in an emergency.

We can help building managers stay ahead of the new legislation and keep residents safe🛡️ Every second counts - be ready. Contact us today.

Storm Goretti has caused power outages across the UK - and when the power goes, lifts stop.

That leaves stairs as the only option. For staff, visitors or customers with mobility challenges, this creates an immediate and serious risk during an emergency.

An Evac+Chair provides a safe, controlled way to evacuate people when lifts are unavailable - during storms, power cuts or any unexpected incident.

Severe weather is a reminder that we still need to be prepared for the unexpected.

If your building isn’t prepared, people are left vulnerable.

If you’re unsure whether your building is fully prepared, booking a FREE evacuation assessment can help identify gaps and ensure the right measures are in place.

Last night’s major fire at the Tyseley Industrial Estate in Birmingham is another stark reminder of how quickly incidents can escalate in industrial and commercial environments.

With 75 firefighters responding overnight, incidents like this underline the critical importance of robust, well-rehearsed fire safety planning.

It is a legal requirement in the UK for every workplace to have appropriate provisions in place, supported by relevant training, to ensure that in an emergency, everyone can evacuate safely and without delay.

If you’re unsure whether your building is fully prepared, booking a FREE evacuation assessment can help identify gaps and ensure you have the right measures in place.

Our hearts go out to the families and friends affected by the tragic New Year’s Eve fire at Le Constellation in Crans-Montana.

Reports reveal that the Swiss bar kept fire extinguishers in a locked room and emergency exits bolted, in an overcrowded venue - a devastating failure in basic fire safety.

We know that accessible escape routes, properly maintained safety equipment and thorough evacuation planning save lives. This tragedy is a painful reminder of why safety and compliance must always come first.
