We’re recruiting Attendance Allowance Volunteers to help older residents apply for Attendance Allowance - a benefit that can make a huge difference to someone’s independence, wellbeing and quality of life.

You don’t need previous experience. We’ll give you full training, ongoing support and everything you need to feel confident in the role. What matters most is patience, empathy and a desire to help people who may be struggling with health issues or daily living.

As an Attendance Allowance Volunteer, you will:
• Support older people to complete Attendance Allowance forms
• Help them feel comfortable and listened to
• Make a real difference to someone’s financial security
• Be part of a friendly, supportive volunteer team

Volunteering with us is fun, rewarding and a great way to build confidence and skills while supporting older people in Solihull.

We are a family living in the B93 area of Solihull, looking to recruit a Personal Assistant for our daughter who is 6 years old and has Cerebral Palsy. She is very keen to socialise and interact.

Your duties will include escorting her to Rainbows after school on a Tuesday (during term time) and we are very flexible as to how the additional two hours per week will be used. This will increase to 4 hours during the school holidays.

The ideal candidate will be reliable and promote our daughters independence but be mindful of her health and safety at all times. You will assist her to gain confidence and get out and about in the community.

Training will be provided on how to use the hoist and lift within the home and some personal care will be required.

Previous care experience would be preferable, along with a willingness to learn and a patient, caring nature.

A full driving licence, valid to drive in the UK would be useful as we have a wheelchair adapted car, which is insured for drivers over the age of 25. However this is not an essential requirement for the role.

This vacancy is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, paid for by the employer.

The employer operates a non-smoking policy on their premises.

I am a lady living in the B90 area of Solihull who is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant for my 21 year old daughter, who is autistic.

She is very able and self-caring but needs someone to support her to build her independence. She is great company, keen to socialise and interact and she enjoys keeping active.

The ideal candidate will be understanding, patient and reliable and have similar interests to my daughter. You will assist her to gain confidence using public transport, support her with routine tasks of living and help her to understand the value of money.

Knowledge of autism would be beneficial but is not essential as training can be provided. Understanding and patience are the key requirements for the role.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person to make a real difference to my daughter, whilst fulfilling an enjoyable, flexible and rewarding role.
