Diary of a Pilates Instructor...Happy Winter Solstice! ❄️☀️

Oh what a wonderful day the shortest day is!

At 3:03pm today, the Sun appeared to stand still above the Tropic of Capricorn; the most southerly point for 12 months.

So now the sun continues its cycle, making its way back towards the Northern hemisphere and with each passing day, we gain back more precious daylight. What a joy and pure harmony.

So rejoice the return of longer days and enjoy all that Hygge brings this time of year!

Enormous thanks to you all for joining me this week at venue and on Zoom!

I hope you enjoyed this festive week, felt great with the exercises, had fun participating in the class raffles (well done to all 27 winners!🎉) enjoyed my Crème de Cacao Christmas Mince truffles (recipe out soon) and hoping my festive costume caused hilarity! 🦌❤️
..doing Pilates exercises whilst wearing this year's outfit was particularly challenging, HOT 🔥and hilariously questionable during certain poses! 😂🤣All to make you laugh!

You've proved that you're committed to building core strength, increasing flexibility and improving overall health and wellbeing, as well as making valuable time for just you...Time which stretches and strengthens your body, whilst giving your mind both a workout and relaxation, away from the busyness of life.

I'm so utterly thankful that you choose me to do Pilates with and I'm always so grateful for your kind support. 🙏🏼🤗

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and have a lovely time with family and friends. Rest, relax and enjoy! 🎄

Diary of a Pilates Instructor...Monday morning inspiration! 💯

I've always loved the wonderful Dick Van D**e. Childhood memories deep in my core absolutely loving watching him in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins. These two films delighted every fibre of my being and showed me that magic was real. ✨

Seeing this interview with this true legend delighted me again. Enjoy watching this little video. Really listen to what he says, study his demeanour and see the pure sparks of joy in his eyes going off like catherine wheels, which create such a positive energy through his body.

To add balance, in another interview, he also admits being quite lazy too. Take note! Doing not much is actually something and it's as important as the doing.

He really is quite something having now celebrated his 100th Birthday at the weekend!

I wish I could introduce my Nanny to him, both of them now being 100 years old!

What a magical man he is. Happy 100th Birthday Dick Van D**e!

🎄Diary of a Pilates Instructor...After the Christmas Tree Festival!

If you saw a fully decorated Christmas tree moving along the streets of Somersham with me poking behind it, your eyes weren't deceiving you. Thank you to the motorist stopping for me as I walked it across the Zebra🦓 crossing! 🤣

It was wonderful to be part of the Somersham Christmas Tree Festival again this year and I hope you enjoyed seeing the 30 trees in the church, which were just so wonderful, glittering and bright.

I do love this event so much. It's great to see all the groups, schools, clubs, activities and businesses of Somersham supporting the church and the community.

It really is magical and I hope you it brought you some festive joy.

With the big Somersham Christmas lights switch on event on 1 December, which was as wonderful as ever, Christmas really is here now!

I'm so pleased to be participating in this year's festival again and this afternoon, I managed with some help 🙏🏼to get my Core Factor Pilates tree into its pot, secure and in its position!

I'm off to the Abbots Ripton class soon, so will be decorating it tomorrow lunchtime!

The festival is this weekend from Sat 29 to Sun 30 November with an extra special opportunity to see the trees on Monday 1 December after the Christmas lights BIG switch on which is 6:30pm for the switch on at 7pm! ✨
