‼️⚠️⛔️SOMERSHAM ST. IVES ROAD SECTION leading into the HIGH STREET CLOSED!

A very small section of St. Ives Road leading into the High Street near Whitehall School in Somersham completely closed just before 10am today with NO THROUGH ACCESS.

I believe there is a burst water main which is being fixed.

So it is impossible to go towards St Ives or Huntingdon that way.

You have to drive towards Colne, then Bluntisham, past the tip and at the crossroads, either turn left to St Ives, right towards Somersham and Pidley or straight over to Woodhurst to get towards Huntingdon.

Coming back into Somersham from Pidley, turn right into Pidley Sheep Lane, then right towards St Ives. Turn left at the crossroads towards the tip, then into Bluntisham and Colne to access Somersham.

Allow extra time for a 6 mile detour.

Take care at the crossroads near the tip everyone!

🚦Heads up about Warboys!

Tuesday evening (13 Jan) there were 3-way temporary traffic lights at the junction where Oceans Fish Bar is in Warboys. They were there at 5:40pm and 7:20pm.

At 5:40pm the lights caused massive queues and delays and it also appeared they weren't functioning correctly. At 7:20pm they seemed stuck on red 🔴so I again found another way.

So, just to give you the heads up if you're travelling that way in and out or through Warboys, you might well want to avoid coming this way in case the traffic lights are still there and maybe use the road I did where the industrial estate is as an alternative route.

I have no idea how long they are going to be there but just wanted you all to be aware so that you can allow extra time for travel or work out an alternative route.

It was wonderful to see exactly 200 of you over 9 classes; an impressive turn out kicking off the first week of Pilates in 2026!

I'm so pleased you enjoyed the post-Christmas special, which woke up those core muscles and provided a lovely stretchy session to particularly ease the back and tight hip flexors.

More of the same next week building in more full inversions options and muscle strengthening.

Diary of a Pilates Instructor...To quote 'Allo Allo'..."My little tank!"

Family funday last Sunday, mini-tanking near Stamford with the fantastic !

I've mentioned that my hubby and our son Francis are helping to build a replica working WW1 Whippet tank.

Well as a Christmas present to Francis, we all went driving mini tanks and it was brilliant fun!

Chris, our Instructor was fantastic and we had such a great time. The weather was perfect too. ❄️☀️

I was so delighted at the end of our tank driving experience to all be awarded with a badge! So, I'm now officially a Tank Commander! 🤣☺️

Classes resume next week Monday 5 JANUARY!🤸🏽
..and all classes next week will be a post Christmas Special...hooray! All designed to help us ease back into Pilates and soothe those tight and in need of stretching muscles!

Diary of a Pilates Instructor...Happy Winter Solstice! ❄️☀️

Oh what a wonderful day the shortest day is!

At 3:03pm today, the Sun appeared to stand still above the Tropic of Capricorn; the most southerly point for 12 months.

So now the sun continues its cycle, making its way back towards the Northern hemisphere and with each passing day, we gain back more precious daylight. What a joy and pure harmony.

So rejoice the return of longer days and enjoy all that Hygge brings this time of year!
