Choosing alignment looks powerful from the outside.
Until someone says, “You keep changing.” “You don’t stick.” “You’re too emotional.” “You’re confused.”
That’s when it gets uncomfortable.
Because when you stop staying in places that don’t feel right,
you stop being predictable.
And predictability makes other people feel safe.
When you walk away from something misaligned, people don’t see the internal conflict.
- They see the exit.
- They don’t see the nights you questioned yourself.
- They see the headline: “She left again.”
That’s the cost.
Alignment makes you honest. But honesty disrupts expectations.
In career too, systems reward endurance. Not self-awareness.
So the person who stays gets praised.
The person who questions gets judged.
If you’ve ever felt slow, inconsistent, or behind because you refused to force something…
Maybe you’re not unstable.
Maybe you’re just unwilling to betray yourself.
What label have you accepted about yourself that was never really yours?
