Alan Beattie

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Alan Beattie at the age of 86.
On April 12th at Cedar Unit South Shields.
Alan was a devoted husband to the late Dawn and a loving father to the late Angela.
Alan will be sadly missed by all that knew him but is now at rest in the loving arms of his heavenly family.
A celebration of Alan’s life will be held at South Shields crematorium on the 7th May at 10.30am.
Followed by a private family gathering.

William (Billy) Wilson
South Shields

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of William (Billy) Wilson on 11th April 2026 aged 82.
Loving Father to Billy, Father in Law to Angela and devoted Granda to Scarlett and Vinnie. A special and treasured Uncle to many.
Billy will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
Billy was an amateur radio enthusiast and always had a smile, a story and will always be in our hearts - the memories we will cherish forever.
A celebration of Billy's life will be held at South Shields Crematorium on Friday 15th May 2026 at 10.30am.
All are welcome who knew him and Donations can be made at the service to The Mission to Seafarers if desired.
Keep smiling Dad, we'll remember you always.

It is with a heavy heart we have to announce the passing of Garry who passed away on Tuesday 31st March 2026. Garry, son of Kathleen and
Kevin, brother of Daniel and Paul. He will be greatly missed by all his loving family and friends.
Please meet for service at South Shields Crematorium on Wednesday 29th April 2026 at 9am. This will be followed by a celebration wake at The Red Hackle, Perth Avenue, Jarrow
Everyone is invited to attend his funeral.

Rita Gallagher

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Gallagher, who died on 13th April 2026, aged 95.

Rita will be deeply missed by all her loving family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday 6th May 2026 at All Saints Church, Boldon Lane, at 1:45pm, followed by interment at Harton Cemetery at 2:30pm.

Family flowers only, please. Donations in memory of Rita, if desired, may be made to Marie Curie and can be given at the service.

Margaret Harrison (née Little)
Passed away peacefully on 4th April 2026, aged 85.

Margaret will be deeply missed by her loving family, friends, and all who knew her.

Her funeral service will take place on Monday 27th April 2026 at 2:00pm at South Shields Crematorium.

Edward Anderson
South Shields

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Anderson (Eddy), aged 70, on 4th April 2026.

A devoted husband to Janice, a proud dad to Wayne and Neil, and the most loving Granda to Amy. Eddy will be deeply missed by his daughters-in-law, Emma and Barbara, his brothers and sister, and all his extended family.

Eddy’s love of life, happiness, and laughter will be remembered by everyone who knew him. Truly one of the world’s happiest people and everyone’s best friend, he leaves behind countless cherished memories. 💙

A celebration of Eddy’s life will take place at South Shields Crematorium on Tuesday 28th April at 2.45pm, followed by refreshments at The New Crown, Mowbray Road, South Shields, NE33 3NG.

Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, may be made at the crematorium in support of the British Heart Foundation.

Alan Mulvain passed away peacefully after a short illness on the 9th April 2026 at 93 years young, surrounded by his loving family.

Husband of the late Joyce (nee Rundle), loving dad to Sharon, George and Brian. Much loved grandad, great grandad and brother to Joan and the late Billy, Tommy, John and Stan.

Funeral will be held at South Shields Crematorium on Friday 8th May 2026 at 12.30pm followed by a celebration of his life at the Unionist Club. Family flowers only.

Terrence “Terry” Edwards
Jarrow

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of our much loved dad, Terry, who passed away peacefully in hospital on Friday 10th April, aged 64, following a sudden illness, surrounded by his loved ones. Dad to Christopher, Charlotte and Camille. and Grandad to Kara, Theo, Joseph and Albert.
Terry was a big character, living life full of colour. A true free spirit who found happiness in music, laughter, painting, camping and nature. He leaves behind many special memories that will be treasured always. He will be missed so much and forever remembered with love by all who knew and loved him.
Terry’s final journey will take place at South Shields Crematorium on Tuesday 5th May at 12:30pm, followed by a celebration of his life at Murray’s Club, Fellgate Avenue, NE32 4LZ. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, can be made at the service in memory of our dad to Asthma + Lung UK. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts 💔

Margaret Rose Bond (née McCulla)

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Margaret Rose Bond (née McCulla), who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on 5th April 2026.

Please meet for the funeral service on Thursday 30th April 2026.
The service will be held at Hebburn Cemetery Chapel at 10:15am, followed by burial at Hebburn Cemetery.

Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Muriel Ridley, née Mackey
79 years old

Wife to the late Harry (Henry) Ridley, mother to Angela and Harry, Nanna to the late Kayley halliday, Kim, Chloe and Kye, and great nanna to Ellie, Sophie, Aimee, Lola and Isaac.

Passed away with her loving family by her side, 31st March 2026, after a very quick illness at South Tyneside Hospital.

No specific dress code, she loved bright colours, she was always seen wearing many layers, and loved a good cardigan! So if you have one feel free to wear it to the funeral!

Funeral service to be held at South Shields Crematorium, Wednesday 22nd April, 12.30pm followed by a wake at The Grey Hen.

Family flowers only, please, there will be a donation box at the Crematorium raising money to the families chosen charity, Marie Curie.

Graham David MacGregor, of South Shields, sadly passed away on 2nd April 2026, aged 57, after a courageous battle.

Graham will be greatly missed by all his loving friends and everyone who knew him.

Please join us for the funeral service on Thursday 23rd April 2026 at South Shields Crematorium at 12:30pm.

Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, are in aid of St Benedict’s Hospice and may be given at the service.

All are welcome to return afterwards to South Shields Football Club (Marquee) to continue celebrating Grahams life.

Rachel Buglass

Remembering Rachel a loving mam, daughter, niece, sister, and auntie – taken far too soon at just 44. We are absolutely devastated by this loss, and life will never be the same without her. She brought so much love, warmth, and laughter into our lives, and her memory will stay with us forever.

Rachel, you were truly one of a kind. We will miss you more than words can ever say. Sleep peacefully 💕🕊️

Her funeral will take place on Saturday 25th April at 10:30am at South Shields Crematorium.

Afterwards, we will gather at The Shack, Boldon Colliery to celebrate her life and share memories together. Dress code: Smart attire. Leopard print, red or purple tones, or classic all black are warmly encouraged to reflect Rachel’s spirit.

All who knew and loved Rachel are welcome.
