This week at Springfield Lodge we had some special guests!

We started the week with games and activities, including one of our favourites, "What's In The Box?" 😁

We also kicked off our festive season with a Christmas panto, 'A Christmas Carol'. Thank you to Northeast Producers for the show which also featured an acting debut for our fabulous care assistant Moses. πŸ‘

Lots of creative activities this week at The Gardens!

We observed Remembrance Day by making some wreaths for the church service.

On Wednesday we were visited by a ukulele player and we had a sing and dance.

On Friday we had a day for Children in Need, making Pudsey masks and baking Mary Berry double chocolate cookies for the coffee morning on Saturday!

We've had lots of fun activities at Princess House this week, including some Scrabble and lots of arts and crafts.

We'd also like to thank Susie Blyth, Pauline's daughter-in-law, who did an "Octoberfresh" request at Sunderland Eye Infirmary, asking staff to add an extra personal hygiene item to their shop for Princess House. Thank you to everyone who took part for your generous donations. πŸ’š

This week, we came together to mark Remembrance Day.

On Sunday, we lined the road to watch the parade go past. We also visited the cenotaph to pay our respects and lay our wreath.

On Tuesday, we welcomed a very special guest who performed a beautiful selection of Remembrance songs, and we enjoyed plenty of singing and dancing to our residents’ favourites.

We were also treated to a brilliant cheerleading performance by the talented Greenhaff girls. A big thank you to them for bringing so much energy and putting on a fantastic show.

With the cold weather drawing in, we also did some Christmas crafts, making and decorating cards.

We'd also like to extend a big thank you to the family of the late Pat Purcell for the lovely garden bench in memory of their Mum - thank you from all at Langley House πŸ’š

As a proud, veteran-friendly home, Langley House is pleased to share that there is now a permanent remembrance bench in the garden.

Set in the heart of our community space, this bench serves as a lasting tribute to Langley veterans, fallen soldiers, and the many stories shared by those within our community.
