I was asked yesterday if I used Tallow in any of my handmade products.
The answer is definitely not! Never have, never will. No!
As I explained to Betty (not her real name, but let's call her that), all my products are based on natural ingredients and tallow can't be called that. It's the fat from cows, goats and sheep and the only natural part is that they could have grazed on grass, although probably not. The tallow is largely a byproduct of the meat industry collected during the butchering process.
My products contain vegetarian ingredients - cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut and olive oils plus essential oils and I assured Betty that modern skincare products are lighter in texture, smell beautiful and nourish the skin gently.
