"The advantage of Mohs surgery over other forms of surgery is it allows preservation of as much healthy skin as possible while also offering the highest cure rate. Without Mohs , the surgeon has to take a much larger area of healthy skin around the cancer to ensure that it is fully removed. Despite this the cancer can still be incompletely removed and/or regrow at a later date leading to even more extensive surgery. Envisage a tree with roots. In order to remove all the roots a lot of ground has to be removed. With Mohs surgery only the tree and its roots are removed preserving all the healthy surrounding ground."

My priority was to lift her brow and I achieved this with an open bicoronal browlift which is a more traditional but highly effective forehead lifting technique… she also had a extended deep plane facelift and fat transfer to her temples, cheeks and the corners of her mouth and chin crease. We completed her treatment with co2 laser in fully ablative mode to remove lines and wrinkles from around her mouth. We are both happy with her new softer fresher younger look! - James McDiarmid

"I cannot recommend James Mcdiarmid highly enough and his lovely team. From my first consultation for Deep plane and C02 Laser James made me feel very at ease explaining everything about the procedure clearly. He was very easy to talk to and answered all my questions. I booked my surgery and was very confident that James was the surgeon I wanted as after all it’s a big decision to make. On the day of my surgery I felt a little nervous but again was made to feel very much at ease by James and the lovely nurses.

My surgery went very well with minimal pain quite a bit of bruising around eyes (Upper & lower Bleph). Only to be expected and soreness from the Laser treatment. I was very well taken care of (2 nights, could have stayed a month due to fantastic setting and location). by the loveliest nurses and loved meeting Zoe who was so chatty and smiling all the time. A great lift when you’re feeling a little sore. I never got to meet the Chef but his meals were totally five star yummylicious..

I’m now 6 weeks post op and my results are already incredible. I know I’ve still got a little time to go for the final result but hell I’m very happy now !! I can’t thank James enough for his outstanding skill and look forward to seeing him in the near future.

"We are very grateful to this delightful patient for allowing us to share her results 2 months following augmentation mastopexy. She had had two breast surgeries before 14y and 25y ago and presented with asymmetric breasts, capsular contracture, a waterfall deformity, ptosis and enlarged ni**le ar**la complexes. The implants removed were 400g Mentor round implants. The implants placed were 325g and 375g Siltex moderate plus profile round implants. The patient is delighted with her results demonstrating more symmetrical uplifted breasts which look very natural."

As surgeons we take on huge responsibility when we agree to operate on patients. Of course none of us can guarantee perfection - but totally preventable disasters like this are absolutely horrible for the patient … particularly when the procedure was undertaken by a non-plastic surgeon with no specific training.

We fixed her at Wood MediSpa by performing a reverse abdominoplasty and releasing the fibrosis caused by the previous surgical misadventure.

Choose your surgeon wisely ladies and gentlemen… choose a plastic surgeon and if you’re having Vaser (which is a technology that I love ❤️) then your surgeon being a ‘Total Definer’ is a good benchmark - this is a safety training course in recontouring that in my opinion represents the best safety benchmark.

I am so grateful and pleased with Wood medi spa, James Mcdiarmid is an amazing surgeon and has time for his patients, the nurses, admin staff are so friendly, helpful.
