I asked ChatGPT to be brutally honest about me professionally…and it did not hold back.

Some of it was a little too accurate for comfort, some of it made me laugh, and some of it genuinely made me stop and think. But reading it back, I realised it sees me as driven, capable and quietly ambitious and honestly, I’ll take that 😩😂

If your skin has been looking a little uneven, dull or just not as clear as it once was, the answer may not be another serum, it might be IPL.

It’s one of those treatments that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves, yet it quietly delivers some of the most impressive improvements in overall skin quality.

And for many women in their 30s, 40s and 50s, it’s the treatment that finally makes their complexion look brighter, clearer and more youthful again.

If pigmentation, redness or sun damage are bothering you, this one is worth paying attention to.

I’m really proud to share that I’ve joined The Menopause Network as an Adviser!

Supporting women’s health has always been something I care deeply about, and menopause is an area that still doesn’t get the attention, understanding, or support it deserves. For so many women, this stage of life affects far more than just hormones. It impacts skin, hair, sleep, confidence, mental wellbeing, and how you feel in your own body.

In clinic, I see firsthand how menopause and perimenopause show up through the skin and how closely health and aesthetics are linked. Looking after the skin isn’t just about how we look; it’s often a reflection of what’s happening internally. Being able to support women with accurate information alongside aesthetic care is incredibly important to me.

The Menopause Network is a free resource for consumers and offers a wealth of trusted, evidence-based information and support. If you’re struggling or simply want to understand more about what your body is going through, I’d really encourage you to check them out. There are so many valuable resources there, and you don’t have to navigate this stage alone.

Six myths I wish we could leave behind for good 👇🏼

1️⃣ “Injectables will make you look fake.”

When done well, these treatments enhance your natural features, not change them. Subtle, anatomically respectful work should leave you looking like you, just fresher.

2️⃣ “You should wait until you see deep wrinkles to start treatments.”

Preventative and early interventions can keep skin healthier for longer and help you age more gracefully, without drastic changes later - saving time and money in the long-run.

3️⃣ “All practitioners and products are the same.”

The person behind the needle and the quality of what’s in the syringe matter. Choosing an experienced, medically trained practitioner is key for safe, beautiful outcomes.

4️⃣ “Once you start, you’ll never stop.”

Great treatments are about maintenance, not addiction. You’re in control, you can stop, pause, or adjust your plan whenever you choose.

5️⃣ “Filler will stretch your skin permanently.”

When used thoughtfully and in the right amounts, filler does not leave skin sagging if you stop, the idea that it “ruins” your face long-term is simply untrue.

6️⃣ “SPF isn’t necessary if it’s cloudy or you’re indoors.”

UV rays can pe*****te clouds and windows, so daily sunscreen is essential, rain or shine, if you want to protect your skin from ageing and damage.

The under eye area is often the first place women notice change.

Hollowness, shadowing and that persistent tired look can appear even when you’re sleeping well and looking after yourself. This isn’t about fatigue, it’s about volume loss, thinning skin and changes in how light reflects under the eyes.

In this result, tear trough filler was used carefully to soften shadows and restore gentle support, creating a brighter, more rested appearance without overfilling or changing expression.

The goal is never to “fill the eyes,” but to rebalance and refresh so you still look completely like yourself.

This is what under eye treatment should do: soften, support and quietly restore confidence.

Started noticing softness along your jawline, early jowls or a loss of definition around the lower face?

This is one of the first areas to change as collagen declines and hormones shift, especially through our 40s and 50s.

The good news is that lower face heaviness is incredibly treatable when you understand what’s happening beneath the surface.

It’s rarely about one magic treatment. It’s about choosing the right combination to rebuild support, tighten the skin and restore the natural contours that give the face its shape.

Your 40s are an interesting chapter. Your confidence grows, your boundaries sharpen, and yet your skin and face begin to change in ways that can feel unfamiliar.

I see it every day in my patients, and I’m experiencing it too.

This decade has taught me to rethink what truly matters when it comes to ageing well, and to let go of the things that never really mattered at all.

Instead of chasing perfection or trying to look like a past version of myself, I’m focusing on treatments and habits that keep my skin strong, resilient and reflective of how I feel on the inside.

And honestly, it’s the most freeing approach I’ve ever taken.

2016 me had no idea what was coming.

That was the year our family went from 3 to 4.

I was heavily pregnant (I didn’t do small pregnancy), and a bridesmaid at a friend’s wedding. I remember feeling huge, uncomfortable, and so frumpy compared to the other bridesmaids - pregnancy does that to you.

Then the baby arrived…and everything changed.

The first few months were a blur.
Constant feeding.
A newborn permanently attached to me.
A two-year-old navigating BIG emotions and relentless tantrums.
I felt like I was either feeding the youngest or firefighting toddler meltdowns.

After the birth, I gained a lot of weight.
My confidence disappeared.
I stopped wanting to socialise, which really wasn’t like me at all.
Postnatal depression crept in quietly.

That was also the year we began to understand that our eldest was autistic – the start of a journey that shaped our beautifully neurodiverse household.

Somewhere in all of that were the over-plucked eyebrows and bleached blonde hair (still no Botox then – I was breastfeeding and very much in survival mode).

By September, I knew something had to change.

Not because I wanted to “get my body back”.
But because I needed my head back.

So I started moving.
Joe Wicks 90-day plan.
Cheap weights at home.
A water bottle that went everywhere with me.
Eventually, the gym.

And here’s the thing:
Exercise didn’t just change my body.
It gave me my mind back.

Clarity. Consistency. Confidence.
And slowly, I came back to myself.

Over the years, that confidence gave me the courage to make bigger changes.
To step away from general practice.
To lean into women’s health, menopause care, and aesthetics.
And to build my clinic from the ground up.

Because I never want other women to feel the way I did back then. And if they do, I want to help them find their confidence again – whether that’s through health, hormones, skin, strength, or simply being heard.

Same woman.
Different chapter.
Stronger in every sense.

(And yes… the brows & hair are much better now 😉)

The most natural, impactful results almost always come from a combination approach that treats the skin, structure and quality together.

Here, we focused on restoring gentle facial volume with cheek and tear trough filler to rebalance shadows and support the mid-face.

Microneedling and polynucleotides were used to strengthen the skin, improve texture and boost collagen, while Obagi skincare addressed pigmentation and overall skin health.

Each element plays a different role, but together they create a fresher, brighter, more rested appearance, without changing who she is.

This is what I mean by ageing well. Not chasing one line or one area, but supporting the face as a whole so the result feels subtle, cohesive and completely natural.

The conversation around ageing has become so noisy that many women feel caught between two extremes, either do nothing and “embrace it,” or chase youth at all costs.

But the truth, especially in aesthetic medicine, is so much more nuanced.

Looking younger has never been the real goal for most women I treat. Feeling confident, authentic and well supported in your own skin is what truly matters.

And when you shift the focus from chasing youth to enhancing your natural features and skin health, the results feel far more empowering, far more sustainable and far more like you.

If you’d like a treatment approach that prioritises natural results, skin health and confidence over chasing the clock, DM me the word “READY” or tap the link in my bio to book a consultation 💌

Just because everyone is talking about a treatment doesn’t mean it belongs on your face.

I see this all the time - a treatment starts trending, or you’ve seen a great before and after on social media, and suddenly it feels like the thing you should be doing too. But faces do not age in the same way, and what works beautifully for one person can be completely wrong for another.

Your bone structure, fat distribution, skin quality, muscle activity and even lifestyle all play a role in what will suit you. A treatment that enhances one face can distort another if it is not chosen for the right reasons. This is how people end up overfilled, unbalanced or disappointed, even when the treatment itself is not the problem.

The better approach is to start with an assessment, not a menu. Look at what your face is actually doing as it ages. Are you losing volume, strength, elasticity or hydration? Are lines coming from muscle movement or skin quality? When you understand the why, the treatment choices become much clearer and far more effective.

Good aesthetic medicine is not about chasing trends. It is about timing, proportion and restraint. The goal is not to look like someone else or to keep up with what is popular, but to support your face so you look fresher, more rested and still completely like yourself.

If you are unsure whether something you have seen online is right for you, that is exactly what a consultation is for. Come in, ask the questions and let us work out what actually makes sense for your face. DM the word “READY” to get started, or tap the link in my bio to get started 💌
