Doctor Harvey isn't just a friendly face he helps our residents improv their mental and physical health.

Studies have shown that dogs help people living with dementia in the following ways:

Emotional & Physical Comfort: Interaction increases chemicals like oxytocin and dopamine while lowering cortisol (stress hormone).

Memory & Cognition: Tactile interaction, such as stroking, can trigger memories of past pets, aiding cognitive function.

Reduced Behavioral Issues: Therapy dogs can calm agitation and reduce anxiety in individuals, acting as a non-pharmacological intervention.

Social Engagement: Dogs act as a bridge for communication, helping patients feel more confident in interacting.
