Yesterday evening we worked with the Ophthalmology team to host a focus group at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust with Involved Patients all about communication. We got some really useful feedback about appointment letters, virtual pathways and the Friends and Family Test (FFT).

We just launched some pages on our website for people on longer waits for care with us.

They signpost to resources that support patients to self-care while they wait. Over 350 patients were involved in this project and we hope to expand the pages in the coming months based on further feedback.

In October 2025, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust received 1,496 responses to our Friends and Family Test (FFT) Feedback Surveys.

93.98% of patients rated their overall experience of UHS as "Very Good" or "Good".

Yesterday University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust hosted the Annual Members Meeting where we we met some of our Involved Patients.

Gillian (pictured with our Patient Engagement and Involvement Officer) has been involved in focus groups, surveys and come to Trust Board. Gillian has also worked with us to help improve patient information for Head and Neck Cancer patients and recently shared her 'Little Pocket Book' full of advice from previous patients for new patients.

92.62% of patients rated their overall experience of UHS as "Very Good" or "Good".
