We’d like to invite you to something very special… 💛

Together with Gayle Jordan from Align Osteopathy Totton, we’re hosting a Pelvic Health & Pilates Workshop designed for women navigating postnatal recovery through to the menopause.

This is more than just a class — it’s a space to reconnect with your body, feel stronger, and move with confidence. We’ll start with an informative chat about the pelvic floor — how it’s affected by childbirth, trauma, and life’s natural changes — and practical ways to support this vital part of your body.

Then we’ll bring it into movement:
✨ A reformer session to explore alignment, strength, and control
✨ A gentle mat session with exercises you can easily integrate into your daily routine

This workshop is all about learning, moving, and feeling empowered in a calm, supportive, boutique environment.

We’d love for you to join us — spaces are limited to keep it personal and high-quality.
📩 Send us a DM to reserve your spot and find out more details 🤍

At Align, we support families at different stages of life, from pregnancy, through early months with your baby, to rehabilitation and recovery 💙

Our approach is calm, evidence-informed, and always tailored to the individual.

💙Supporting pregnant women

People often seek osteopathic care during pregnancy to support comfort and movement as the body changes. Common reasons include

• pelvic, hip or lower back discomfort
• neck and shoulder tension
• rib or postural discomfort as pregnancy progresses

Appointments are adapted to each stage of pregnancy, with positioning and techniques chosen for comfort and safety.

💙Supporting babies in the early months

Parents bring their babies for many different reasons, often to explore whether osteopathic assessment could be helpful. These may include

• unsettled behaviour or difficulty settling
• feeding-related tension or positioning challenges
• general stiffness or asymmetry noticed during handling or movement

All baby appointments are gentle and unhurried, with time to talk things through.

💙Post-partum support for women

After birth, many women seek osteopathic care to support their recovery and return to everyday movement. Appointments may help explore:

• back, pelvic or hip discomfort following pregnancy or birth
• postural strain related to feeding, lifting, and carrying
• feeling physically “out of balance” as the body adapts after birth

Care is individual and can be coordinated alongside other post-natal support.

If you’re unsure whether osteopathy is right for you or your family, we’re always happy to talk it through.

At the clinic this week, a few common questions have come up and we know many families wonder the same things.

💙How soon can a newborn be seen?
Parents often ask if their baby needs to be a certain age. In practice, babies can be assessed from very early on, we have treated babies just days old. Appointments are always gentle and adapted to baby’s age and needs.

💙My baby is gassy, fussy or unsettled.
Many babies experience periods of unsettled behaviour in the early months. This may look like wind discomfort, difficulty settling, or general fussiness. Support starts with taking time to understand the whole picture.

💙Breastfeeding isn’t going as expected
Feeding challenges are more common than many people realise. Parents often mention latch discomfort, tension during feeds, or that feeding just doesn’t feel quite right. Exploring support early can be reassuring.

💙What about sciatic pain?
Sciatic-type pain is a frequent reason people get in touch, particularly during or after pregnancy, or following changes in activity levels. It can affect comfort, sleep, and daily movement.

If any of this feels familiar, you don’t have to navigate it alone. We take time to listen, explain, and support you at every step.

Migraine is more than “just a headache.”
It’s a complex neurological condition that can affect vision, digestion, energy levels, concentration and emotional wellbeing.

For many people, medication is an essential part of managing migraine and we would never suggest otherwise. But research and lived experience both show that migraine care often works best when it’s multifaceted, combining medical treatment with supportive, non-drug approaches.

Alongside medication, people often explore things like:
• hydration and regular meals
• sleep routines and nervous system regulation
• gentle movement and posture awareness
• managing neck, jaw and upper back tension
• reducing physical stressors that may aggravate symptoms

This is where osteopathy may be considered as part of a wider support plan. Osteopathic treatment does not treat migraine itself, but may help by addressing musculoskeletal tension, supporting mobility of the neck and upper back, and helping some people feel more comfortable and resilient day to day.

Migraine looks different for everyone. What matters most is having options, feeling informed, and being supported to build a management plan that works for you.

If migraine is something you live with, you’re not alone and you deserve to be taken seriously.

Ever feel confused about protein? Then keep reading. 💙

Protein is an important part of women’s health, but it’s often surrounded by hype and mixed messages.

Protein supports muscle maintenance, bone health, immune function, and recovery. As women move through midlife, maintaining muscle becomes more important, and adequate protein plays a role alongside regular movement and strength based exercise.

Most women do not need extreme amounts. Current evidence suggests around 1.2–1.6 g of protein per kg of body weight per day, which can usually be met through everyday foods rather than supplements. Total intake across the day matters more than exact timing.

Protein is not a cure all. It works best as part of a bigger picture that includes balanced nutrition, sleep, stress management, and movement.

Clarity beats hype when it comes to women’s health. If you ever have any questions or want to chat more about topics around women's health, just reach out any time.

In the early weeks of life, babies are adapting to a huge change as they settle into the world outside the womb.

Paediatric osteopathy is a gentle, hands on approach that looks at how a baby is moving, resting, and responding to their environment during this important stage of development. Birth can involve physical forces, whether labour was quick, long, assisted, or planned, and some babies may carry areas of tension as they adjust.

Parents often choose an initial paediatric osteopathy appointment to explore things such as
• how their baby turns their head or holds their body
• feeding comfort and coordination
• digestion, wind or unsettled behaviour
• general comfort and ease of movement

Appointments are always calm, unhurried, and guided by the baby. Any treatment offered is gentle and adapted to each individual baby, with time for parents to ask questions and feel supported.

If you’re unsure whether paediatric osteopathy is right for your baby, you’re always welcome to get in touch and talk it through.
