Good morning everyone 🌞

We’re reaching out with a little request! Yesterday we held our very first reminiscence slideshow at the home, exploring local history from Titchfield, Wickham, and even some wonderful contributions all the way from The Gambia — and it was a huge success. Our residents absolutely loved it.

If you have any old photo slides tucked away in a loft, a cupboard, or a dusty box — especially anything local or from memorable travels — we would be so grateful to give them a new life. They’ll be used to spark conversations, memories, and smiles during our reminiscence sessions.

If you’re happy to donate or lend them, please get in touch. Thank you so much for helping us keep history alive for our residents ❤️📸

At Ancasta Grove Care Home, we believe that friendship has no age limit — and that a simple conversation, a smile, or a shared cup of tea can brighten even the cloudiest day. ☕💛

We’re looking for Independent Visiting Volunteers — kind, compassionate people who can spare a little time to visit our residents living with dementia. You don’t need special skills — just a warm heart, a listening ear, and a little patience.

Whether it’s chatting about old memories, helping someone write a letter, reading together, or simply sitting quietly and offering companionship — your presence can make a world of difference. 🌷

Volunteering with us is about connection, laughter, and small moments that truly matter. If you believe that everyone deserves friendship and dignity in later life, we’d love to hear from you.

That feeling of joy is a wonderful, specific sensation often called "the Christmas spirit" or "yuletide cheer."

This blend of excitement and nostalgia is common when immersed in the festive atmosphere of a garden centre, surrounded by glittering lights, ornaments, and the scent of pine.

The experience is heightened by shared moments and laughter with friends, creating cherished, feel-good memories of the holiday season.
