Free coaching conversations for Dental Leaders 🦷 Do you want to pioneer and lead the way in building QI capacity and capability in dental healthcare?

Many organisations struggle with recurring problems:
❓ Can I help my bottom line and what does QI have to do with this?
❓ How can I reduce waste through QI?
❓ Could I help reduce spend on consumables like cement, paper etc?
❓ Can I make sure processes around equipment cleaning are efficient and make sure instruments are always useable?
❓ Can QI be used to ensure you are recovering all the available income?

We’ve seen how tested Quality Improvement (QI) methods can break those cycles and create lasting change.

If you’re ready to explore a different approach, QIC are offering confidential, pro-bono coaching conversations with dental healthcare leaders who want to transform how their teams work - no strings attached. πŸ’‘

Message us if you’d like to be part of shaping what β€œnext-level QI” looks like in dental healthcare.

🌍 Following the World Health Organization (WHO) Patient Safety Day 2025 focus on neonates and maternity, QIClearn mentors want to shine a light on 12 amazing maternity & neonate QI projects!πŸ’‘

Dr Lukas Karafiol, Locum Paediatric Consultant, St George’s Hospital has chosen to highlight ✨ Dr Natalia Perepelova's QI project, "No parents? No NIPE?".

Dr Lukas Karafiol says:
"I think this is a great project as timely completion of the NIPE is essential for early detection of conditions that may affect a newborn’s long-term health. This project took practical steps to reduce missed or delayed examinations, improving safety and screening reliability for babies under their care."

Thanks to our learner Dr Natalia Perepelova, North Middlesex University Hospital.

✨ When Paediatricians Meet Vets: Surprising Lessons from a Mentor Swap

When Chido (a paediatric doctor) and Nicola (a vet) swapped mentoring groups in our QIClearn programmes, they uncovered surprising parallels:

πŸ”Ή Both professions feel overwhelmed by Quality Improvement
πŸ”Ή Both battle the pressure to β€œget it perfect”
πŸ”Ή Both communicate with caregivers - just different species!
πŸ”Ή Both face similar clinical challenges, from pain scores to lab results

The mentor swap also revealed ways we can better support learners: clearer language, smaller groups, and safe spaces to share β€œimperfect” questions.

And the biggest insight?
πŸ‘‰ Stepping into someone else’s world shows just how much we all have in common.

Dr Rasheed Kaja Mohammad, Consultant in Emergency Medicine, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Foundation Trust has chosen to highlight
✨ Sebastian Brown's QI project, 'Training Trainees to Train Trainees'.

Dr Rasheed Kaja Mohammad says:
"This poster focuses on specific needs of Paediatric Residents for feedback as well as more general implication and relevance to other healthcare areas. The topic of training early stage trainers is very nuanced and complex but Quality Improvement as a potential approach is interesting and worthy of attention. The poster itself depicts a coherent story, easy to understand and pleasingly presented and at the same time QI methodology has been used in logical steps."

Thanks to our learner Sebastian Brown from University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.
