The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.

The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide, World Health Organisation.

Mental health promotion and advocacy is not limited to month of October, it is a daily affairs. Millions of people suffers from symptoms of mental illness at different levels, and that is enough reason why efforts should be geared towards building preventive culture within ourselves. Everyone must be made responsible to promote health in his/her capacity because my own irresponsibility may be injurious to many other around me.
