Clive joined the Lung Cancer Screening Programme for a routine follow-up scan. The scan revealed cancer in his lung, caught at an early stage.

“If you get the offer to take part, don’t ignore it. It could save your life,” says Clive.

Detecting cancer sooner can increase the chances of better outcomes.

We are sponsoring the trial of a new blood test that could identify cancers in very early stages.

Over 450 patients have already taken part in Hampshire and Dorset, including Ian Robinson from Fawley (pictured). He says research is "absolutely vital" and hopes taking part can benefit future generations.

The study is being run by researchers from the University of Southampton in partnership with the Southampton Clinical Trials Unit and biotech company Proteotype Diagnostics.
