Top Tips - that can have a big impact on your overall health!

1. Drink 8 glasses of water a per day ( approximately 1.5 litres). You can do that! I will be showing you how little it is per hour to achieve this. Keep a look out for my future posts!

Water intake does vary again on your weight. - ask me for more details on how to calculate how much YOU should be drinking. Again this is very individual.

So how do we measure our body composition ? How much body fat are we carrying vs how much muscle mass we have?
Using Tanita scales these will give you accurate readings including, Body fat percentage
Muscle mass in pounds or kilos
Hydration levels - how hydrated are you?
How many calories you should be consuming - this is very individual and everyone is different! Based on your height, current weight, metabolism and lifestyle!

Using Tanita scales can really help you understand your body and how well it is working!

Like a car -
We need the right amount of fuel (the right fuel too!).
We need water and we need good fats.

Body shape and BMI (Body Mass Index)
Looking at this picture both men have the same BMI!
However, their body fat content is different and so is their muscle mass.

If you are trying to lose body fat - weighing yourself does not tell you what your body is made up of. ie, percentage of body fat, percentage of muscle, skeleton weight etc.

Using a Body Composition monitor will help you focus on decreasing your body fat and improving your muscle mass.
Gaining muscle mass has many other health benefits, not just improving body shape.

Factors that have a major impact on our health.
* Insufficient clear water intake, often replaced with coffee, tea or fizzy drinks.
*lack of exercise combined with a sedentary lifestyle.
*Fast foods high in fat and calories but low in nutrition.
*Processed or convenience foods high in salt and sugar.
*Too many dairy and meat based proteins instead of the healthier fish and plant based options like soy.
Too many refined carbohydrates like white rice, bread and pasta as opposed to the healthy brown whole grain varieties.
*Lack of dietary fibre from insufficient fruit and vegetables.
*Good quality rest and recuperation

I am a Herbalife distributor too and will be promoting products on here also. I will simply be sharing options of products that can be also useful to help with your wellness goals.

We all know the recipe for success is pretty simple. A balanced diet, regular exercise and plenty of water. So why do some of us struggle to maintain optimum health?

Life can get a little hectic and it's easy to slide off track, even when we know what we are supposed to be doing.
