We are here to support you today and plan for your future. Simple, Dignified, and Affordable Cremation Services

Welcome to Hampshire Direct Cremations, a dedicated division of Jonathan Terry Independent Funeral Directors. Our mission is to provide families with a compassionate, affordable alternative to traditional funerals, allowing you to honour your loved one in a way that feels right for you—simple, respectful, and without unnecessary complexity. Jonathan Terry, a well-respected figure in the funeral business for nearly four decades, established this division in response to the evolving needs of today’s families. After 39 years of guiding families through funeral arrangements, Jonathan has seen firsthand how preferences have shifted over time. Some families and those wishing to plan ahead now seek a more straightforward approach to cremation, one that aligns with their values and budget without compromising on dignity or care. Hampshire Direct Cremations was born from this understanding, allowing us to meet the growing demand for affordable, high-quality cremation services with the same dedication and sensitivity that has defined Jonathan Terry Independent Funeral Directors. A direct cremation is a straightforward option that separates the cremation itself from the celebration of life, giving families the flexibility to arrange a meaningful service at a later date. Our service provides essential options: families can choose embalming and private viewings in our chapel of rest, and if desired, accompany their loved one from our premises to the crematorium. This approach allows us to honour the simplicity of direct cremation while ensuring the farewell remains personal and dignified.

Wave of Light – October 15th
Tonight, we join families across the world in lighting a candle at 7pm for one hour — creating a continuous Wave of Light that circles the globe.
We do this to remember and honour all the precious babies who left us too soon - Though their time with us was short, their love and light remain forever in our hearts.
This day reminds us that we are not alone. It brings comfort, community, and hope to parents, families, and friends who carry the memory of a baby gone too soon.
So tonight, as we light our candles, we pause to say:
You are loved - You are remembered- You will never be forgotten.
We hold in our hearts all the families we’ve had the honour of supporting, and we remember your precious little ones with you tonight. Kindest Regards Jonathan and Victoria.

On Tuesday 9th September we had the privilege to host Dr Bill Webster and his Wife Johanna. Dr Bill attended our coffee morning and gave a talk about his grief journey programme that has helped many people here in the UK and in Canada. In the Evening he gave a talk to professionals on the Importance of Ritual and supporting families who maybe experiencing unresolved grief many months after a direct cremation where no service or ritual has taken place.
We believe Grief needs a moment, a ritual, a space to begin healing. A simple direct cremation, without support, can leave families with silence instead of comfort. With a funeral director–led direct cremation, your loved ones are cared for with compassion and dignity." We also recommend before choosing a direct cremation this is discussed with the family to see how they will feel at the time of loss.
We also thank Wessex Vale Crematorium for hosting the evening and Preta for the Refreshments.
Thankyou - Jonathan
