Tots Play combines the benefits of massage, yoga, music, signing and sensory exploration into one fun-filled programme to boost all round development, as you enjoy special time together. Three different classes for the different ages of your little ones. The Baby Development course is designed especially for our youngest babies, and provides new parents with a range of skills and activity ideas to give your baby a head start in life. Classes are from suitable from birth to 6 months old. Discovery Tots classes are fun, interactive weekly play session that you and your baby will both enjoy. Come and join us at Discovery Tots for physical, social and sensory development through play. Classes are suitable from 8 weeks to crawling/early walking. Do you ever wonder exactly how do I play with my tiny bundle? Or what can I do to make the most of those times when all the routine things have been done and my baby is ready to explore the world? Things that will not only be fun but support your little one’s development too?👀

💖Baby Massage💖
Last week in our Baby Development Course we finished our full body massage routine. I had to share these pictures of these lovely mums with their babies. Baby massage is a beautiful bonding experience and it’s so special to be able to capture these moments which are full of love.💞
Positive touch from massage provides a feeling of security and well-being to babies and young children, it reminds them of the close contact and rhythmic vibrations they felt while in the womb. If you’d like to learn more -feel free to give me a message!☺️

🍊This week is Food Play week!🍋
Food items offer so many opportunities to explore textures, colours, shapes and more, so it’s an easy and inexpensive way to enjoy sensory play with your little one, and we’ll give you lots of ideas for bringing food items into your play times this week.
🍎Did you know that exploring edible items through play can also help with weaning too, as it dampens down the response when introducing a new food type if they have experienced food (even without eating it) at a younger age, often leading to less fussiness and aversions?
🍓This is especially true if you allow them to get a bit messy with their food play, then they will be less sensitive to new tastes and textures when you introduce them and will pick up new foods for play.
🍌This is always such a fun week, so I can’t wait to have lots of fun with you and your little one as we play, laugh, learn and explore the wonders of food play together!🐵🩵🧡

A common question that we get asked is if dads or partners or other family members can attend class. The answer is….. Absolutely!

We love it when partners come along to our sessions! The activities we do are a great way to support all family members in bonding with your little one. Dads and other family members are more than welcome to come along with you, or on their own if you're busy (or just fancy some time to yourself!) ❤️

It’s Contrasts Week!🖤🤍
Using contrasts in sensory play encourages babies to investigate and explore different concepts. Touching a piece of velvet and then touching a piece of hessian sack would show them the difference between smooth and rough for example.
Using contrasts will also aid your child's awareness and help them to learn the skill of differentiation.😁

Do you feel like you're always on the go? Getting to the end of a busy day and thinking, where did that time go? As parents we always have a lot on our plates. On top of trying to raise our children and educate them, the stress of work, family issues and current events, many of us are dealing with mental health struggles like anxiety, depression and burnout. Then there’s the never-ending to-do list from food shopping to having to be organise school runs, clubs, arranging playdates to making sure everyone has the clean clothes they want. With so much going on, it’s hardly a surprise that many parents struggle to be present with their children!

Coming along to a baby class will give you that focused time with your little one, away from where the dishes are sitting there, or the laundry pile waiting to be put away, or the beds that need changing upstairs. You can sit with your child and enjoy time together, laughing learning and playing, and most importantly having quality bonding time together where you and your little one are just focused on each other. Being present as a parent is not only the best gift we can give to our children, but also the only thing they really look for, as YOU are their whole world!

Our Story

Tots Play combines the benefits of massage, yoga, music, signing and sensory exploration into one fun-filled programme to boost all round development, as you enjoy special time together. And of course lots of bubbles at the end of every session! Three different classes for the different ages and mobility of your little ones. The Baby Development course is designed especially for our youngest babies, and provides new parents with a range of skills and activity ideas to give your baby a head start in life. Classes are from suitable from birth to 6 months old. Discovery Tots classes are fun, interactive weekly play session that you and your baby will both enjoy. Come and join us at Discovery Tots for physical, social and sensory development through play. Classes are suitable from 8 weeks to crawling/early walking. Social Tots classes are similar to Discovery Tots but adapted for the greater mobility and developmental stages of your growing toddler. Your little one will love the physical, social and creative development through play. Classes are suitable from active crawling to 2 years old. Available for parties too! Please ask for more details! We run classes in Shirley on Wednesdays at the Scout Hut opposite Shirley swimming pool and on Thursdays in Netley Marsh, Totton, at St Matthews Church Hall.
