Delighted to be invited to officiate the memorial of local legend Nathan Cresswell on 13 June.

Nathan was a vibrant character, fearlessly authentic, loved by everyone - especially the special needs children he taught. A person that grabbed life firmly by the unmentionables and left explosions of glitter in his wake wherever he travelled.

I look forward to sharing just a few of the many wonderful stories of Nathan's life.

Apropos my last post and my current offer re weddings: Please note that if you are experiencing significant financial difficulties and you need/want a non-religious funeral or wedding service, please contact me. Everyone should be able to mark these events in a meaningful way. I'll do what I can to help.

Times are difficult for everyone (including myself!) so I'm making an offer re WEDDINGS that might help both me and my clients.

Before the end of November 23: book me for a wedding with a 25% deposit (£150), and pay only £600 in total for your completely bespoke wedding service.

SMALL PRINT:

Price includes the ceremony and unlimited planning conversations/all my prep. Does not include an extra day for a formal rehearsal (often not needed anyway) or travel expenses if applicable. (I never charge travel for visits/services within the Southend area. Might well charge if you want me in the Maldives with you. Pirate outfit definitely needed for that one.)

Remainder of fee isn't payable until 3 months before your wedding date. (Although you can pay earlier if you want to!)

Deposit is usually non-refundable, unless a cancellation happens from my side. However, special circumstances will always be compassionately considered.

Today, I have mostly been, prepping for the two weddings I'm conducting this week!

Tremendously exciting. Both services will be incredible fun and a bit different to the norm!

Although I apologise in advance to both couples for my singing. I mean, it's not a part of the service, but I like to do it anyway. Oh, did I not mention that..?

Spent a lovely couple of hours with Loz, Kieran and some of their family yesterday, discussing their forthcoming nuptials.

The wonderful thing about a non-religious service, is it can be WHATEVER YOU WANT.

And I'm particularly the Celebrant for you if either or both parties have nerdy interests. 😉

Oh and the cat is Henry. Isn't he magnificent? (Sadly he won't be at the wedding. Although the couple's rescue cat Cleo might make a meowpearance)

Started the day with a dip at Chalkwell Beach with some lovely friends.

I always find solace in the sea. Floating beneath the blue sky, decorated with wispy cirrus clouds.

Then drying on the beach in the sun, like a marine iguana.
