When it comes to being traumatised, it isn’t only the thought of the event happening again that is terrifying and exhausting.

The dismissal and judgment one receives from people following being triggered serves as a kind of double whammy of trauma.

The repetition of a traumatic event is bad enough, but to then have one's natural responses invalidated, to me at least, is when the real pain begins.
