Not your average pt session when you pull out so smelling salts from .co.uk _ came to me still dealing with pain just lifting an empty bar and fearful to push his rugby career — years after AC joint and collarbone surgery. Every press hurt. Every session reminded him of what he used to be able to do.

Fast forward to now — he’s pressing 20kg dumbbells for sets of 10, pain-free, strong, and confident again.

This wasn’t luck.
It was consistency. Patience. Relentless effort.
We rebuilt the foundation — mobility, scap control, strength through range — and layered it piece by piece until the shoulder could perform again.

Super proud of the work this man’s put in.
That’s what proper rehab looks like — not avoiding movement, but earning it back. 💪🔥

Telling someone to “just rest” isn’t a treatment plan.
It’s a pause button.
And when you press play again… the same pain comes back.

Instead of resting, you need to find the weakness, the imbalance, or the movement pattern that caused it in the first place.
Then start rebuilding it.
Bit by bit.
Stronger. More stable. More resilient.

So no, I won’t tell you to rest.
I’ll find what’s not doing its job and fix it — so you can keep moving, training, and improving without fear of it coming back.

The truth?

We’re living in an age of quick fixes and band-aid solutions.

Whatever the issue is with runners— the go-to answer seems to be orthotics, inserts, or the latest gadget that promises to “fix” your pain.

But here’s the truth 👇
If you’re a runner with hip, knee, or foot pain… the problem usually isn’t your shoe.
It’s how you move.
How your hips load.
How your foot interacts with the ground.
And how your system transfers force through every step.

Instead of slapping on another temporary fix, let’s start asking better questions:
💭 How can we get this person to shift into their hip better?
💭 How can we build real strength through the chain?
💭 How can we make their system more resilient — not just patched up?

Because performance and injury prevention aren’t about supporting weakness.
They’re about building capacity.

‘I’m just getting old… I don’t bounce back like I used to…’

But here’s the truth:
It’s not age — it’s inconsistency.

❌ Inconsistent training
