A Huge welcome to Carmel Bentham 👋😀💛 as she takes over the reins from project manager Nick Chard. We are very excited to have Carmel join the Abacus family and look forward to the expertise that she will bring.

After 18 years of hands-on service, Nick steps into the new role as a trustee of the charity. Nick was one of the founding members and has been instrumental in the vision and development of the charity, which has established itself as a leading service provider - for professional counselling at affordable rates - within Southend-on-Sea.
We are thankful for all his hard work and welcome him to the board.

💛🙌 THANK YOU to the Community Investment Board for supporting our charity. We are delighted to have received £8395.43 from the Community Investment Fund towards our operation and admin costs for the next 12 months. These contributions help us to co-ordinate and provide professional volunteer counsellors locally.

We are looking for a new Charity Development Manager, to lead the service and contribute towards its continued development. The role involves managing and having oversight of all aspects of the charity. Tasks range from leading a team of counsellors, to managing the finances and marketing and meeting with the trustees, to give updates on the progress and performance of the charity.
