Burnout can creep in softly for neurodivergent and chronically ill folk, in the tiny moments we stop journaling, forget to eat sitting down, or fill every pause with noise just to cope.

My latest blog, “When the Soil Feels Dry: Catching Burnout Before It Blooms,” is a beautifully honest reminder that we don’t need to wait for the crash to respect our needs.

Rest isn’t a reward, it’s repair. And like any ecosystem, we have seasons. There is no shame in needing winter. ❄️💚

As the days shorten, my energy softens too. For many of us, especially if we’re neurodivergent or living with chronic fatigue, winter can feel heavier, slower.

Over time, I’ve learned not to fight the darkness, but to move with it.

Morning light becomes medicine. A cup of rosemary tea or warm porridge signals my body to wake gently.

And when afternoons fade too fast, I lean on small rituals such as a lamp, a bath, a candle to ease the shift.

Today is International Transgender Day of Remembrance. It’s a day to remember trans and gender-diverse people whose lives have been taken by anti-trans violence.

It’s a tender, necessary moment to acknowledge that this violence is still happening, often fuelled by transphobia, misogyny, racism and discrimination. This day exists because trans people, especially trans women, continue to face the threat of harm simply for being who they are. No one should have to navigate the world like that.

Today is about love. About care. About saying: you mattered, you matter still.

If this day feels heavy, you’re not alone. It is heavy.

Grief and activism live side by side here. It’s okay to take this gently, to pause, to breathe, to feel whatever arises. Holding space for this remembrance is an act of solidarity in itself.

To every trans person:
You deserve safety, joy, celebration, and a future filled with possibility.
Your existence is powerful.
Your life is a gift.

When we feel drained or fatigued, it’s easy to think we need to do more to recover - rest more efficiently, find the right supplement, push through the fog. But sometimes, the medicine is much simpler: step outside.

Even a few minutes in nature, feeling the wind, noticing the rhythm of birdsong, the scent of soil after rain, can gently recalibrate the nervous system. Our bodies remember we’re part of the earth, not separate from it.

🌳 Time outdoors can:
✨ Lower stress hormones
✨ Support gentle movement and circulation
✨ Reawaken the senses
✨ Restore mental clarity and calm

So next time you feel your energy dip, let nature hold you for a moment. You don’t have to climb mountains, sitting under a tree or walking slowly through a park is enough.

The earth knows how to refill our cups when we’ve run dry. 🌸
