Remembrance Day: Honouring with Heart and Song

We gathered to honour the brave men, women and animals who sacrificed so much for our freedom. With prayers, hymns and quiet reflection, we remembered their courage and the families they left behind 🕊️

In the afternoon, spirits lifted as Brian Shaw brought the sounds of the 1940s to life! Residents enjoyed a lively East End knees-up, celebrating the resilience and joy of that unforgettable era ❤️

Poppies for the Pier: A Community Call to Knit and Crochet

Southend Pier has launched a heartfelt appeal to create a stunning tribute for Remembrance Day, covering the pier with thousands of handmade poppies.

Our very own Activities Assistant Jo has joined this wonderful community effort, bringing in poppies and carefully sewing them together for the final display 🌹

This touching project will stand as a powerful reminder to honour and remember all those who gave their lives in service. Lest we forget ❤️

We had a truly heart warming moment at the home when Anna, one of our wonderful colleagues, brought in her beautiful baby girl, Charlotte to meet the team. The visit filled our halls with smiles, tiny giggles, and lots of love 👶

It was especially touching for Resident Wendy, a former midwife, who was overjoyed to hold Baby Charlotte and reminisce about her own days welcoming new-borns into the world.

Moments like these remind us that care goes far beyond our daily roles - we’re a family and community that celebrates life’s most precious milestones together.
