Autumn booster …

The government has confirmed that adults and children over the age of 5 who have a learning disability and are on the learning disability register will be able to get an Autumn COVID-19 booster jab.

This also applies to people with multiple and severe learning disabilities as well.

Invitations to get the booster jab will be going out from September.

If you are not on the learning disability register with your doctor, we have information about how you can join and the benefits of being on it at mencap.org.uk/DontMissOut.

If you or a loved one with a learning disability have any problems getting the Autumn booster jab, we would like to hear about it.

You can call us on 0808 808 1111 or email helpline@mencap.org.uk to let us know your experience.

So pleased the Government is now supporting people with learning disabilities to be prioritised for the vaccination against COVID.

We think it is important for everyone with a learning disability to be offered the COVID-19 vaccine. 💉

We have made a new Easy Read 📰 guide to help you speak to your doctor 👩‍⚕️ to make sure you are on the list for the vaccine.

The NHS have said they might find it hard to find everyone with a learning disability who should be invited for the vaccine. 👀

So it is a good idea to talk to your GP surgery about the vaccines as soon as possible. 👍

Wrong, unacceptable and disgusting discrimination must STOP NOW !

Care homes for people with learning disabilities and autism are facing “discrimination” from the government and remain barred from getting COVID-19 tests.
