Continuing the introductions, meet those who also make up our all-important Audit Committee.

Our audit committee is headed up by Bob Gardner. A chartered accountant, but now retired, Bob brings decades of financial, business development and general management expertise to the Board. He is the father of a daughter who had profound and multiple disabilities, giving him a personal understanding of the importance of high-quality support.

John Peacock is also one of our Reach Care Directors. He is a retired Partner of intellectual property law firm Potter Clarkson. He also serves as a Magistrate in Nottingham and Mansfield.

Nick Turner is Reach’s Deputy Chair, a vital role to ensure the Charity flourishes. A retired local businessman, Nick is very active in the community as a Southwell Lion and Verger at Southwell Minster.

We are really looking forward to Christmas now and what better way to get in the mood than adding some festive decorations to your house/desk or to gift to a friend.

Our amazing volunteer Christine has handcrafted a beautiful collection of decorations and stockings, all in support of Reach.

Email martin.family12@hotmail.com to pick up yours or place an order.

(Please note amendment to previous post- the Santa decoration does come with a sleigh and the mice can be sold separately).

🌼 We’re proud to share that Flower Pod Newark has been awarded a Level 4 – Thriving rating in the RHS - Royal Horticultural Society and Friends of East Midlands in Bloom Competition as part of the It’s Your Neighbourhood scheme. As a first-time entrant, receiving a level 4 rating is really fantastic!

This award recognises our significant progress in horticultural quality, community participation, and environmental responsibility. Achieving Level 4 means our site is flourishing — a fantastic reflection of the dedication and teamwork of everyone involved.

👏 Huge congratulations to all our hard-working clients, volunteers and staff for a superb achievement!

🎉 It’s Trustees’ Week! We’re celebrating the incredible contribution of our Trustees and the difference they make to Reach Learning Disability.

Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing profiles of our Trustees so you can get to know the people behind the scenes. First up is our Chair, Rachel Lannon.

Rachel is an Independent Corporate Business Consultant and Trainer with over 10 years’ experience supporting multinational companies and statutory bodies to improve capabilities and capacity.

She says:
🗣️"We remain ambitious to expand to support the growing population of people with learning disabilities in our county and we must manage that growth in an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. We will rise to these challenges and will do so whilst continuing to deliver high quality, person-centred services to people with learning disabilities. I thank all my fellow Trustees for another year of unwavering support."

Making waves and fire on our first full day at Calvert Lakes during our first ever activity holiday!
Saturday morning brought canoeing on the lake and bushcraft in the woods. The afternoon was spent on a lovely lakeland walk or more canoeing.
