Yoga classes start back on 7th and 8th January.

I teach small, supportive classes with options to suit different needs. Suitable if you’re new to yoga or returning after a break.

I’m a Level 4 British Wheel of Yoga teacher.

WEDNESDAY MORNING – Stones, Ripponden

⭐ Wednesdays, 10.45 - 12noon at Stones Methodist Church, Ripponden, HX6 4LA
⭐ Thursdays, 1.30 - 2.45pm at St Peters Community Centre, Sowerby, HX6 1HB

Classes are £8, or £40 for a block of 6 consecutive classes.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Philippa’s Thursday afternoon Chair Yoga at St. Peter’s. A warm and welcoming atmosphere, exercises can be individually tailored and we learn something new every week - even to remember to breathe!

I have attended both Philippa’s Wednesday evening and Wednesday morning chair yoga classes.
At the moment chair yoga is the most beneficial for me as I have been struggling with a leg injury. I always come away feeling relaxed and full of positivity.

Classes are £8 drop-in, or £40 for 6 consecutive sessions.

✨ Beginners & Mixed Ability Yoga: explore movement, stillness, breathwork and rest through a mix of seated, lying and standing practices.

✨ Chair Based Yoga: a gentle, supportive class following the Gentle Years Yoga approach, ideal if you have limited mobility or prefer a practice with the support of a chair. Class is mostly seated with some standing.

A bittersweet chair yoga class last Wednesday — we celebrated my mums 80th birthday, but it was also my Aunty Paulines (mums sister) last class with us before she set off on a new adventure, moving to North Yorkshire. Pauline, who turned 90 this month, even made a little speech about first coming to Stones at just three years old and all the happy memories she’s made here since. We’ll miss her so much, but wish her every happiness in this next chapter ❤️

These Chair Based Yoga classes are ideal if you’re living with health conditions, have mobility challenges, or simply prefer a gentler way to keep active without having to get up and down from the floor.

I’ve trained with the British Wheel of Yogas Gentle Years Yoga programme—a specialist, evidence-based approach designed to help you feel steady, comfortable, and confident in your movement and rest.

With the support of a chair, each class gently adapts traditional yoga poses so you can join in at a pace that feels right for you. It’s a safe and enjoyable way to look after body and mind. Here’s what you can expect:

✅Improve your strength, balance, and flexibility gently and steadily
✅Learn simple ways to manage health conditions and move with ease
✅Build confidence and reduce the risk of falls
✅Feel calmer and more focused with breathing and relaxation practises

These classes are welcoming, friendly, and supportive. They’re a space where you can enjoy moving, breathing, and resting, while taking time for yourself. You’ll leave feeling calmer, more at ease, and more confident in what your body can do.

Out enjoying the last few days of summer 😆. But seriously, I'm really happy to finally have some rain 🌧️.

Monday is the Autumn equinox 🍂 when we slip from Summer to Autumn and the day and night are in balance before we start heading to the darker time of year.

Autumn is said to be a time for reflection, rest and letting go 🕯️✨. Which feels perfectly right for me just now. Time to light the fire🔥, curl up with a hot chocolate ☕ and imagine being snuggled up in Mr Badgers cosy home in The Wind in the Willows. Definitely on my growing list of things to read (or re-read).

I’ve been procrastinating over lesson plans today 🙈. But the intention is for this weeks classes should give us some rest and replenishment🌿💛.
