Sports massage can often be uncomfortable or feel like ‘a good pain’ which is completely normal!
During the massage you may feel a deep pain, discomfort, or pressure, especially in areas of significant tension. However, this should not be excessively painful, distressing, or cause bruising.
It is also common to experience muscle soreness after a massage, similar to that of after a big workout. This normally eases after a day or two.
The temporary discomfort is worth the relief afterwards! Massage reduces longer term pain and muscle tension, enhances flexibility and mobility, reduces stress, and improves well-being.
I tailor all my massages to the individual client, making sure that I use an appropriate pressure for them. The temporary discomfort is worth it, I promise!
