Friday the 13th! Lucky or unlucky?

I choose LUCKY🍀

Did you know? While many see it as unlucky due to superstitions, some consider it a day of magic and growth. It’s linked to the divine feminine, fertility, and manifesting wishes, especially with symbols like horseshoes or evil eyes.

Origins of the superstition:

13 is seen as unlucky, possibly because it follows the “perfect” 12 or the 13th guest at the Last Supper.
Friday was once considered unlucky in Christian tradition.
The combination is linked to historic events like the Knights Templar’s arrest on Friday, October 13, 1307.
For many, it’s just an ordinary or fun spooky day — not something to fear!

Have a great day ~ Cate

While Saturday might be the most popular day of the week for wedding bookings, it can also be the most expensive day to get married, and it can sometimes be hard to find the date you're looking for at your chosen venue that also works for your preferred suppliers.

You could consider another day ? As a celebrant I have conducted weddings on every day of the week... everything goes these days!! 😍

🌟On Wednesday (11th) Random Acts of Kindness Week starts!! 🌟

Let's spread love, joy, and kindness in every way we can. Whether it's a simple smile, a heartfelt compliment, a helping hand, or paying it forward, each act creates positivity. As a celebrant, I believe that kindness is the most beautiful gift we can share — it’s what brings us closer and makes life truly special.

Let’s make kindness contagious and inspire others to do the same! 💖✨

Lots of "Couples To Be" are going for Handfasting these days...
Handfasting is an ancient Celtic tradition, revived in modern weddings, where a couple's hands are symbolically bound with cords or ribbons to represent their union, giving rise to the phrase "tying the knot". It's a meaningful ritual, often part of pagan, humanist, or secular ceremonies, signifying commitment, betrothal, or marriage, and can be customised with personal fabrics like tartans or meaningful colours.

How it works:
The Binding: The couple joins hands (often left over right, crossed) as a celebrant or guests wrap cords or ribbons around their hands.
Vows & Symbolism: During the binding, couples exchange personal vows, and the fabric chosen (ribbons, tartan, fabric from a gown) often holds personal meaning.
The Knot: After vows, the hands are released, leaving a knot as a symbol of their joined lives and commitment.

As days slowly start to get longer, it's the perfect time to talk about warmth and connection.
Summer months get all the attention for weddings, but I do have a very soft spot for winter ceremonies. There is something incredibly special about gathered loved ones wrapped in love, creating a cosy atmosphere that you just can't get in July.

My February Focus :
Heartfelt vows: Helping couples to write their own truly personal promises.
Cosy Rituals: I’m loving handfasting ceremonies using warm, textured ribbons or small, intimate unity candle lighting.
Romantic Vibes: Working with couples who want a ceremony that is relaxed, intimate, and deeply personal.

Thinking of a 2026/27 Winter Wedding?
Don't wait for the sunshine to start planning your ceremony. The best, most personal ceremonies take time to craft. Whether you are looking for a heartfelt, funny, or romantic ceremony, I’m here to help you bring your story to life.
Let’s chat about your vision ✨

It's February the month of LOVE 💝
Also the month couples think about Renewing their Wedding Vows 💕
A wedding vow renewal is a non-legally binding ceremony designed to celebrate a couple's enduring love, mark significant milestones or reaffirm commitment after challenging times. It is highly personal, allowing couples to re-write vows, include children, or host a dream event—from a private elopement to a large party—that honours their personal journey.
Couples often renew vows to celebrate overcoming hardships, to have the wedding they couldn't afford initially, or to celebrate their growth.
Since it is not a legal ceremony, there is no paperwork, allowing for total flexibility in location, officiant, and content.
Couples can choose to incorporate original wedding elements or do something entirely different.
There is no specific time to renew; it can be done after 1 year, 10 years, or 50 years.
at any time of the year.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner on February 14th, a day celebrated worldwide as a special occasion for couples to honour their love.
Many see it as the most romantic day of the year, filled with expressions of affection, exchanging cards, roses, and gifts, and celebrating their partnerships. It’s also a popular time for engagement proposals and wedding days. Planning ahead for Valentine week made me smile—who would have thought?
Have fun ~ Cate

☔ The weather has been so gloomy lately :-( How do we lift our spirits?

My favourite remedy is to make a big pot of soup... 🍲
There’s something so comforting about soup simmering on the stove. It instantly brings a sense of happiness! Plus, right now, the vibrant colours of the vegetables are so uplifting. It’s incredible how many different variations you can create with vegetable soup! And it’s also incredibly good for you and even keeps you feeling warm ;-)

Who else does this and what soups can you recommend trying to make?
Please drop in the comments 😁 Love & Peace ~ Cate
