Today (10th October) is World Mental Health Day — a reminder that mental health matters just as much as physical health.
This year’s theme, set by the World Health Organization, is “Mental health is a universal human right.”
In the UK, millions of people experience mental health challenges each year — from anxiety and depression to stress, burnout, and beyond. Yet, too often, these struggles stay hidden behind a smile.
So today, let’s remind ourselves and each other:
💬 It’s okay to not be okay.
🤝 Asking for help is a sign of strength.
❤️ Small check-ins — a text, a call, a chat — can make a big difference.
If you or someone you know is struggling, please don’t face it alone. Support is available:
📞 Samaritans: 116 123 (free, 24/7)
📱 Shout: Text 85258 for confidential text support
