A few images created for the planning process and an information leaflet some time ago.
A. W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service came to WillowRow a few years ago. On entering, it’s fair to say chins hit the floor! The lasting words of the company Chairman are stuck in my mind: “ok, this is what we are going to do…”
When we first met the resounding approach from the Management team was: ‘The answer is Yes, we can…. Now, tell me what would you like to do’
The three barrows will provide a choice of immersive experience. Drawing influence from natural elements of water, air and earth. Families will have a choice of venue for their service.
We spent time in discussion with Kenny Brothy, former head of archaeology at Glasgow University. I recall asking if he approved of us branding the ‘open’ barrows as ‘Sky Barrows’. Suffice to say he was enthusiastic!
We will be creating two Sky Barrows and one covered barrow. Arguably, another world first.
At the moment there’s a lot of earth works underway and thus the site today looks quite different from our vision!
