That critical inner voice can be exhausting.

The one that replays conversations, questions your choices, or warns you about what might go wrong.

Trying to argue with it rarely helps. What’s often more effective is interrupting the habit - and then deliberately shifting towards a more supportive inner response.

Hypnotherapy isn’t about being “put under”, losing control, or being made to do anything you don’t want to do.

You’re aware, present, and always in control.

Going into a trance state is actually something we do several times a day without realising it - when watching TV, scrolling on your phone, or getting absorbed in a book.

In a therapeutic setting, it’s that same feeling of relaxation and focus - only this time, your attention is directed towards a conversation that supports positive change.

So rather than losing control, what often happens is this:

Often, it’s because a part of your mind has learned that nighttime is when worries surface. That part of your mind is trying to protect you. It thinks replaying the day, planning tomorrow, or worrying about things will somehow keep you safe.

Stress eating. Reward eating. “I’ve blown it now” eating. “I’ll start again Monday” eating.
